I was able to rate nwr's message, but I do see a couple problems. I won't be able to work on this until tomorrow, and then we'll see if fixing the problems I see addresses the problems that you see.

No worries Percy. Props to you for all the hard work you continually put into this site.

When I get back home, I'll try a few other browsers (Konqueror, Epiphany). I've updated my Java and even installed Ajax Dev tools.......and I couldn't even begin to write code!

Ratings & Page Highlights
I am also having the problem of ratings disappearing. When I reload the page, then it will show me the bubbles with my rating selected, but right after selecting the rating disappears.
Also, I noticed that the first page in a thread, where I come when I first click on the topic from the forum page, is no longer highlighted blue in the page lists at the upper right of the screen. All the other pages highlight when I am on them, but not page 1.
It may have always been like that, but I just noticed it recently.

Still Cannot Search - Tried Different PCs
I am getting the exact same thing at home that I was at work. Still using IE8. I click the "Search" in the main EvC menu bar and get the search criteria screen ("Search Terms", "Search Forum or Category" etc.) - But when I fill these in and actually click to conduct the search I just get a blank white page with the URL EvC Forum: Search at the top.
I decided to try the same thing in the Yahoo Broadband browser and get this at the same point:
Error: Dispatch table lookup failure, control does not exist: Search
My work PC goes through all sorts of proxys firewalls etc. but my home access is a simple wireless broadband with minimal such complications. Cleared cache etc. on both.
Any ideas?

Yes, I am seeing the same ratings problem with firefox 5.0 (64 bit) on opensuse 11.4.
I'll recheck tomorrow, since Admin has indicated that he will work on a fix.

There may be a slight delay...
Decided to install battery backup today, I'd been putting it off because it means I have to move some things around, so I went down to my local Best Buy and asked what size battery backup I needed. I explained I only needed it for 30 seconds until the generator kicks in. The helpful associate said the smallest would do fine, the box said 225 watts. I said I had a big computer. He said it would be fine. I said really big. He said it would be fine. I said the graphics card has cooling tubes. The box has three fans. It doubles as a space heater. He said it would be fine.
I should have looked up the power requirements of my computer before I went down there, because when I hooked everything up the battery backup overload indicator went on immediately. I shut everything off and spent 10 minutes before finally finding the specs that came with my computer when I bought it about 5 years ago. My computer uses 750 watts.
So tomorrow I have to go back to Best Buy (after it opens) and buy a bigger battery backup. Given the power requirements I'll have to buy one of the bigger ones and I don't know where I'm going to put it, so this might take a while.
I'll look at the problems in the morning, but if I don't finish before noon then it'll probably have to wait until Monday.
If anyone has battery backup recommendations, now is the time...

Is "fuck Best Buy" an acceptable recommendation? Because seriously, fuck Best Buy. If you can, overnight a UPS from Newegg. And I doubt your PC actually sucks 750 watts. You may have a 750w PSU, but unlikely you are actually pulling that much...unless you have a RAID15 with quad SLI. {abe} and like a 4 chip motherboard.

Re: dBoard 4.0 Release
I was trying to use the latex codes. They are quite useful for printing out equations, and I was using a few equations in a discussion of relativity.
I can live without them if I must.

Re: dBoard 4.0 Release
I had no idea anyone was using the Latex codes, so I didn't bother translating that code. If more than 0 members are using them then I'll do the translation soon. Or were you just testing?
There are quite a few old posts of mine that use Latex, which I imagine are currently looking more like gibberish than normal...

Quirks at "Climate Change Delusion" topic
The PNT indicates 3 total message, but no message 2 shown. Message 3 is the promotion message.
The promoted version has 2 message 1's, and no message 2. Message 3 is the promotion message, and the first message 1 is a copy of the promotion message, except it is attributed to "No Name Available".

Re: This way to the Egress
It's an easy matter to flip the arrow that links to the oldest unread message in a thread, the image already exists, so I've flipped it, but would appreciate feedback from any other members who have opinions about this. I never felt like an arrow was quite the right icon.
