Hey, Percy,
I just hit my usual "favorites" button and was in without having to re-sign-in, just as usual. I also noticed that when I click on "All Topics" at the top I see some "Error on page" messages in IE's (v 8.0) lower left notice corner then "Done". Everything seems to work though. I haven't yet seen any glaring error or bug. Hmm, interesting. Now the notice on the bottom is reading "Done, but with errors on page." Again, no major in usage malfunctions noted.

1. Click on your browser's refresh button. 2. Click on "All Topics" No error message now. click on thread title "dBoard 4.0 Release is Complete!" (or any thread actually) and "Errors on page" reappears. Things go by too fast for me to read all the "Waiting for http:// ..." then "Errors on page", then more "Waiting for http:// ..." then more "Errors on page" ... finally either "Done" or "Done, but with errors on page" all with yellow triangle and "!". Again, Percy, everything I've tried seems to work just fine. Just the error notice at the bottom.

I cannot search using either IE8 or Firefox. I get a blank white page with the url - EvC Forum: Search at the top. Is this anything to do with the upgrade or just me? Search works fine here. IE8.

A small cosmetic item for the bottom of your ToDo List.
The list of thread participants used to be ordered by number of posts.

but would appreciate feedback from any other members who have opinions about this. I never felt like an arrow was quite the right icon. My 2 cents. The arrow pointing towards the thread indicates "there is something right in there" so to speak. Arrow seems very appropriate. Even an inexperienced newbee can determine what it means without scratching their head for too long. And, of course, the hover text is a dead giveaway.

Error: Dispatch table lookup failure, control does not exist: Search This sounds very familiar. Wasn't this the same error I saw in EI8 when I had "Compatibility Mode" set? Found it: Message 379 Not saying this is your issue but the error message is similar. Hope it helps.

So I'm curious, for those who think they can tell whether the performance is now better, worse, or the same, could you post a short note to this thread? Thanks! I'm not seeing any change but then My ISP is in the way and I know they have numerous hiccups and delays as evidenced by other sites. But since I'm here and on this subject:
Percy Rules! Way to go, man.

We seem to have lost
[sup]superscript[/sup] and [sub]subscript[/sub] capabilities. Or am I confusing this with another board?

Use these '<' instead square brackets Well, then O.K. Thanx, CS.

Doing it this way simplifies other things ... Sorry. I do not like the down arrow at all. Seems unnecessary, adds clutter and is redundedundant . The no arrow meant no unread message while avoiding an added graphic. Also, the down arrow leads to the same message already immediately available in the far right column. The right arrow/no arrow scheme seemed more appropriate. However, if it make other work easier then, as always, we'll get used to anything in time.

Like so:
But no embed. Just big blank space. hmmm, interesting. Thar she be. But when I went to "preview" the message in "Reply" there was no display. When I submitted, there was no display. Exited, came back in, Voila! Curious. In doing "Preview" of this edit, again, no display. Think I'll submit. Wait one. Well, no display ... until ... exit thread and re-enter thread. Now display like all is normal. Strange. Edited by AZPaul3, : No reason given. Edited by AZPaul3, : No reason given.

All work fine in IE8. Must be a Chrome thing.
No problem, really. Just surprised me.

So now that yours is being revealed, do members have the option to air or not to air their ratings? Does it matter? Personally, I like the rating of individual posts. The accumulation into a Member Rating, however, is rather childish. If I had the option to turn Member Rating on/off I would probably leave it at whatever is the default setting since I really don't care.

Isn't the member rating just a reflection of the quality of the sum of their posts? Ideally, it would be, but, for the most part, it is more a show of the community's agreement/disagreement with the point of view of the member, and for some the personal like/dislike of the member, regardless of the clarity, format, mechanics, logical construction and efficacy of their individual posts. More of a personality thing than a quality presentation thing. This applies to the individual posts as well, of course, but on this smaller scale (rater/writer v community/member) the telling is not so much in the numbers of pluses/minuses but, for me, the who. I have respect for some members' views of my posts on certain subjects and couldn't care less about others. The cumulative result means nothing to me. But, that's me. Others here find comfort/concern in the cumulative member rating as a reflection of their overall popular standing in the community. I think it was Buz who quipped that he becomes concerned that something is wrong when his rating gets above -50. So, in my view, the cumulative is not a "post quality" thing at all. Just a popularity contest.
