In the Essential Links drop-down, I noticed that the Forum Guidelines link is set to go to the Edit Profile page.

Another one is bad
I was going to chide Jon for (again) starting another "Suggestions and Questions" topic, rather than going to the preferred existing topic dBoard 3.0 Beta Release Today.

Alas, the link to that topic in "Essential Links" actually goes to the "All Forums" page. And I haven't been messing with the menus stuff since Thursday.
​
I could try fixing it, but recent history says that I'd only make a bigger mess.

If you're referring to a few days ago, not really much of a mess. While the menu did look completely screwed up, it was due to a single setting. The Essential Links menu had been set to Static (always visible) instead of dynamic (drop down upon mouse hover). I hope you don't give up on it.
