Seeking New Favicon

Some of you may have already noticed the new favicon for EvC Forum that appears on the tabs, address box or window chrome of many browsers. The prior favicon was my sorry attempt at Noah's ark. This favicon is my sorry attempt at the Darwin fish. Can someone please produce a better favicon for EvC Forum.The new favicon should be clear and distinct at the tiny size (hard to achieve, I've found) and it should be emblematic of EvC Forum. It can be a gif, jpeg, png or ico file. Please post your proposals as responses to this thread.

Given the skills at this I've demonstrated thus far, I'll recuse myself from comment.However, if you can add transparency that makes my job much easier. I haven't found a way to easily add transparency to backgrounds in GIMP, if there's an easy way please let me know. I can't afford much time for adding transparency to images.Would anyone like to volunteer to do more images for EvC, for things like buttons and image links and so forth? It would be very much appreciated.

If the background is white without a border then transparency is needed, otherwise it looks amateurish when displayed on a non-white background. A good example is Wikipedia. Pandora is almost the same but looks much better because the background is off-white and there's a border.

It's automatically scaled to 16x16, so the actual size doesn't matter as long as it's square. If it's not square it'll get scaled to be square.

Hi all,I'm going to set the favicon back to the first EvC one, I'll try one of the other EvC's tonight, but I don't think EvC is it. It's the exactly correct information, but as an identifying icon it lacks something. The hand of God with DNA has that something but probably can't be done at that scale because too often it wouldn't be recognizable unless someone told you what it was.I wonder if a frontal of a galaxy would look any good:

Darn, can't tell what it is. Thanks for trying. I just don't have access to my normal toolset while at work, so I'm limited in what I can do here. I can't easily upload images to the website during the day to see how it would actually look, but in this case I don't think it's necessary.I wonder how this would look:

Okay, the vase of a bust.The galaxy I'll give a try tonight, but I'm already pretty sure it's too hard to tell what it is.Can you do this: the Yin Yang symbol with EvC inside? It would be sort of like the earlier EvC attempts, but with a Yin Yang background, and the letters have to fit inside - maybe even be curved to conform to the circle.

I had tried the fish icon myself, but reduced in size it looks like an amateurish stick figure. Your survey of your open tabs is consistent with what I've observed myself, so I think we're limited to at most a few letters, which would be EvC, or a single letter, or relatively simple symbols. The IEEE was actually able to fit all four letters in their icon and make them legible, but the NOAA (National Weather Service, I don't know how they get NOAA) just uses their symbol, and the NOAA portion is a white smudge.There are some easily recognizable icons of the creation/evolution debate, like Noah's ark, the Darwin fish, the chimp-to-human march of progress, and others I'm sure that I can't bring to mind right now, and it would be nice to use one of those, but the only one I've had any luck with is Noah's ark.

I like it, but can you make the letters more yellow? They're not very distinct against the black background.You'll have trouble finding that font - it's a custom job I borrowed from I friend I've long lost contact with.
