Re: Contradiction or Mistake
purpledawn writes: Mistakes are not contradictions.
You're taking the word "contradiction" too literally. When people talk about Bible contradictions, they usually mean inconsistencies. That seems to be the intent of the OP: "Show me a contradiction/inconsistency and I'll show you an apologetic." Mistakes, plot holes, omissions, etc. should count.

Re: Contradiction or Mistake
If you're going to make a fine distinction between contradictions and errors, we're going to need a clear definition of each. Otherwise, apologists can handwave away the discrepancies as off-topic without even giving a proper apologetic.

III writes: So, I conclude that they had sex based on the fact that it read "and she conceived" not based upon the fact that it says "Cain knew his wife". Example, "Cain knew his wife, and she died".
A better example might be, "Cain shot his wife and she died." There's a clear connection between the shooting and the death just as there is between the "knowledge" and the conception. Ignoring context isn't skepticism. It's just wrong.

Re: Other thoughts
III writes: If it was that specific, there would be very little need for doubt hence the skepticism.
There is no need for doubt. "He knew his wife and she conceived," means he got her pregnant just like, "It's raining cats and dogs," means it's raining hard. "He knew his wife and she conceived," is the equivalent of, "They got married and two months later she was pregnant." It's just silly to interpret it as, "He knew his wife and by sheer coincidence she got pregnant." By the definition you cited, skepticism means "questioning, probing, testing." What did you question, probe or test to come up with the conclusion that two halves of the sentence are completely unrelated?

Re: Other thoughts
III writes: "He knew his wife and she conceived, This is the full context though and is much different than "He knew his wife".
Yes, that's what people are telling you. You need to look at the context.

Re: thewordofgod describes a worthless god
thewordofgod writes: The scriptures were only meant for God, not religious people who don't even know who God is.
So the Bible is just God talking to Himself? How did the transcripts get into human hands in the first place?

Did you even mention the Bible in your sermon? It's a simple question: Is the Bible meant for us humans or not? You seem to be saying that God has to zap the enlightenment to understand it into you. If so, why doesn't he dispense with the Bible altogether and zap the information into you directly?

Re: thewordofgod describes a worthless god
thewordofgod writes: Only God can interpret the scripture and that's the only reason they exist.
It doesn't make much sense for God to write down a bunch of stuff that only He can understand. Can't he just remember it? (It reminds me of that Dana Carvey movie, Clean Slate.)
thewordofgod writes: Do you have a better plan than God?
I have five.

Re: thewordofgod describes a worthless god
thewordofgod writes: How is God supposed to remember when he doesn't have any brain to remember things?
Without a brain, how is he supposed to design anything?
thewordofgod writes: When I read the scriptures and prophesies, I understand them without having to study like Christians do, and still they don't know the true interpretations. They lie to themselves with their own interpretations and then lie to others that they teach.
I think you're holding the book upside down.
