True story
Back in 1978, while stationed at Fort Hood, there was a common quote: What is the most dangerous thing in the army? A 2d Lieutenant with a map. To show this: I was involved with a number of other soldiers during a Division Reconstruction test. I was a Nuclear, Biological & Chemical evaluator. At one point in the training sequence, One platoon called the TOC (Tactical Operations Center) the caller, the platoon leader a young 2d Lieutenant requested Decontamination support. The specialist in the TOC who answered the radio request, asked the lieutenant for the grid co-ordinates of the area the decon was needed. The lieutenant gave back a 6 digit co-ordinate (nearest 100 meters). The specialist looked at the map and cracked up, picking up the mike, he responded, "Sir, if you are where you say you are, you don't need decon, you are in the middle of Belton Lake."

That's not as bad as the 2d "Looie" in Vietnam, who had the entire base camp on alert. He went out to check the perimeter and smelled marijuana, and that meant there were VC everywhere, at least to him. The pot was being smoked by the soldiers pulling guard on the perimeter.
