MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Merry Christmas everyone! Whether you're of the religious superstitious type or not a day off to spend with family, friends, and too much food can never be a bad thing, can it?

MERRY CHRISTMAS IN SPITE OF IT

We lowly ones
Through quiet reflection
And great dedication
Master the art of karate
Lo, we shall rise up
And then we'll make

Merry Christmas
A Merry Christmas to all here whatever be your worldview.
My wife and I are doing a geology/oil field Christmas. I am consulting in the Jonah Gas Field in Wyoming and she left our house in Colorado at 5 AM for North Dakota to do the geology on a well for Marathon.
Remember us the next time your furnace kicks on or you need to drive somewhere. Many people work 24/7 to provide the oil and natural gas we need, even on hollidays.
My wife had at least enough time to go to midnight mass. As always she asked me if she could take me in her heart. I am not a Christian, but I do appreciate all of her very heart felt feeling when she says that.
I hope all of you can accept my Merry Christmas greeting to you in this same way.

Re: Merry Christmas
My son is a police officer who has not been able to join us on Xmas for the past two years and won't for a couple more years. On Facebook, he "liked" an RN friend's post:
quote:
please remember all who are working these holidays so you can be home with your families, our military, police, fire, ER nurses...oh and the Albertsons (Jewish owners) near you that is open for your last minute....beverage !!!! Just remember to say thank you !!! That's all we ask !! B safe..

A Thankful Christmas
Merry Christmas, petro, and thanks.
I have serious misgivings about our energy policies, but reality dictates our continuing dependence on oil even if we work hard to end it.
My house is warm, snug and heated with oil. Thank you.
As a frequent demonstrator and former long hair, my experience with police officers is decidedly mixed. But part of that mix was being damned glad to see them at times, and I appreciate the difficulties and sacrifices of police officers (one nephew a homicide detective, one niece a patrol officer; they call me Uncle Perp. )
Merry Christmas and thank you, Officer Friendly, wherever you are. Give the kids a break.
Firemen pulled me from a burning house as a kid, EMTs from a burning truck as a teenager. I've stopped fireman to thank them for doing their job, and, after their surprise passes, I can see how much it means to them.
Merry Christmas and thank you, men and women who run into fire.
Nurses, aides, technicians--even physicians--have cared for me regardless of the day or the hour of night or the mess and stink and blood of injury and disease.
Merry Christmas and thank you, nurse, aide, tech and doc: I'd be dead several times over without you.
Thanks again, petro, for reminding me.

I know there's a balance, I see it when I swing past.

Oh, just one more thing: Queen Asgara...
...Mistress of Fear, Sovereign of Longing--it's been too long since I said anything at all to you.
Merry Christmas, Your Majesty!
May your eternal reign continue to rock.
