Re: How do dogs sense earthquakes?
Sub sonics? Dog can hear lower frequencies than us so I wonder of they can here rumbles before we can.
I guess they only react to some physical stimulus any way and sub sonics seems plausible.
I've heard about a death detecting cat (in some oncology hospice) who would go and sleep near a patient who would die that night.
All anecdotal, but interesting none the less.

Yeah, you're probably right.
You can see in the video how the dog quickly looks to the ground like its reacting as if it heard something.

And there's the dog who could smell cancer.

EvC resurrection
I haven't been around much because my life got cluster fucked.
Am I to understand that the Great God Percy has resurrected all those who perished in the EvC massacre a couple years back?

Re: EvC resurrection
Hi, Taz.
Welcome back.
Remember the "Did Mod cause the collapse of evcforum?" thread?
I think, when Crash and Hyro reached their detente, the news got to Jar and Dreamcatcher, and the resulting talks with Percy got several former members reinstated (arachnophilia, Ringo, etc.).
There may have been other things going on behind the scenes (PMs in such), but I don't know much about it.

sweet phylogenic tree
I don't really know where I should throw this. Its just a cool phylogenic tree that I surfed across and wanted to share it with you all.

If you don't see an obvious thread where it might belong after poking around a minute or two, just put it in a new thread.

swallowing drugs
I used to work as a cop. One time, I made a regular traffic stop. When I approach the driver, he appeared to be eating stuff. Well, turned out he had eaten a couple bags of marijuana. I could see it all over his teeth. And also the smell. Anyway, I cuffed him, searched him, and found rock cocaine. Good nite.
Anyway, later the issue came up. The question in the station was should we take him to a hospital because he swallowed a couple bags of marijuana? I asked around and not a single cop there knew the answer. He appeared all right, so we eventually decided to take him to jail and let the county cops take care of it.
Is there anything wrong with eating marijuana like this guy did? I later had to testify in court to get this guy convicted of possession, transport with intent of distribution, etc. so I know he was ok. Do you actually get high from eating it? The whole night this guy was crying. Didn't look high at all.

Re: swallowing drugs
Yes, you get high, higher than smoking I have heard.
No chance of OD on weed though.
I posted a story on a cop who kept some evidence and him and his wife put it in brownies in the humor section. It is pretty funny msg 189.

Re: swallowing drugs
marijuana is a psychotropic drug, and can be ingested. Although for best effect it should cooked in a high fat dish otherwise much of the drug is wasted. Nevertheless a couple of even small bags probably had this guy talking with his ancestors and being in a jail he was probably crying through a killer bout of paranoia.
