Well, it seems that quite a lot of people want to see the ark float.
Ark van Noach
This is a site of a man who is building it also full scale, and it is going to float, I'm not sure what materials is is using. Although I think I remember everything was going to be build out of wood.
And the Ark Encounter, is not only the ark. Its a complete themepark, I read this nowhere so I thought I might mention it. I see that some people are interested in the money/jobs it will create, these are the expectations:
900 permanent jobs in the themepark (it will be opened year round)
1,6 million visiters in the first year
14000 indirect jobs (restaurants/hotels etc)
214 million dollar impact on local economy in first year
The whole park will cost 150 million dollars, of which AiG will provide 24,5 million.
The park will be build eco friendly.
They are indeed going to build the ark all out of wood, but on land. In the pressconference (which you can see on YouTube or on their site) they say it will be able to float, although they wont do that (see the first lines of my post).
I dont completely see why you all are doubting the ark can be build? It has already been designed, no offence, but I do think that naval engineers know better then you do (yes, naval engineers designed it).
A lot of questions I read are answered in that pressconference, so I can recommend it to you!

On both sides of the contruction are in vertical mode iron trusses attached. After that there were wooden planks horizontally naild to the construction. (Pine, Pinus sylvestris, pine).
Looks like it won't be all wood. And I suspect AIG's construction won't be either.

It seems like I remembered wrongly, my fault.
But Arkencounter.com seems not to agree with your second line:
"Yes, we are constructing a full-scale, all-wood ark based on the dimensions provided in the Bible (Genesis 6), using the long cubit, and in accordance with sound established nautical engineering practices of the era. It should become the largest timber-frame structure in the USA."
But discussing this seems a bit useless IMO, I think all we can do is wait.
A
*edit* and it seems I pushed the wrong "reply" buttom...

Well, we've seen what creationists are like at constructing arguments ... and none of them are watertight.
Thank you, I'll be here all Creation Week. Try the unicorn.

Something like theses only 10 times or more bigger sure any bronze age man could build one on his own. And there would be no leakage and there would be more then enough space for all the animals and the structure could easily support the load of the animals, the food for the animals the water for the animals, and 8 people too and do to its superior design those 8 people could easily feed all the animals and shovel all the shit out the one window on top.

For those interested, here's an article from the NY Times on the theme park:
In Kentucky, Noah’s Ark Theme Park Is Planned - The New York Times
The people of Kentucky didn’t elect me governor to debate religion, he said at a news conference. They elected me governor to create jobs.
Anyone who wants to believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible has that right, the editorial said. However, the way the Beshear administration handled this makes it appear Kentucky either embraces such thinking or is desperate to take advantage of those who do.

Re: The humor continues.
What are the sound established nautical engineering practices of 3000-2000 BCE and exactly where were they found?
Or did you mean the coffee?
Now it was a Brazilian Sweet Blue from the Datera Estate. Hated to waste that.

Hi PrinceGhaldir,
Well, it seems that quite a lot of people want to see the ark float.
Well, that's because it's easy to see AiG building this and then claiming that they have somehow proved the ark to be feasible. If they don't float it, they have proved no such thing.
The whole park will cost 150 million dollars, of which AiG will provide 24,5 million.
How about the profits? Where do they go?
The park will be build eco friendly.
In my opinion, building a 150 million dollar white elephant could never be eco friendly. The whole project is a massive waste of resources. Where are they going to source their "Gopher wood"? Is that a hardwood? Hard to see how that could be considered green.
In the pressconference (which you can see on YouTube or on their site) they say it will be able to float, although they wont do that
That is exactly the sort of claim that people are objecting to. So AiG thinks it will float? Then float it! Not going to float it? Then don't claim it floats! If AiG want to claim that their silly boat is seaworthy, they have to send it out to sea. Anything else falls into the category of "Making Shit Up".
I mean, if I built a rocket in my back yard and claimed that it could take me all the way to Mars, wouldn't you want to see me go to Mars? Or would you just take my word for it?
I dont completely see why you all are doubting the ark can be build?
Because it's frickin' huge! The ark dwarfs any contemporaneous vessel. Even much later, much more sophisticated ships couldn't match that size. It's simply too big to hold together on the water, let alone in the cruel waters of the flud.
It has already been designed, no offence, but I do think that naval engineers know better then you do (yes, naval engineers designed it).
Did they have naval engineers in the Bronze Age? I don't think they did...
Of course, if you're going to fall back on that line of reasoning, then geologists tell us that there never was a global flood, so no need for any ark. It simply never existed. I do think that geologists know better than you do, eh?

I have been giving this some thought
If i where god and i wanted to flood the world, and have some things survive.
1. the easiest way would be that i would send Noa and the animals on a field trip to the Himalayas, flood everything below and if any human would try to climb to safety id fry his ass with lightning.
2. The second easiest way i would use my godly powers to create a dome over some unpopulated spot and let Noa and the animals in. Much easier and much more practical since i could make the dome as large as reserves are no hard work of feeding the animals.....
3. If i relay wanted to use a ship i would transport a cargo ship from the future for Noa to use.
4. If i relay wanted to complicate matters, and make noa sweat from work i would give him a ship design that he could use with the limited technology he had.
A box like shape
The whole flore made of beams, then huge amounts of tar and a noter row of beams orientated in the opposite direction.
The beams that would be vertical would be held in place by copper nails and i would make the flors as low as possible so more structural support would go to the sides every flor would be made of beams and every flor would have an opposite orientation.
The walls would then be planked from both sides of the beams and when they would be built to the top huge amounts of molten tar would be poured in the space between the planks to make a seal so the ship would not leak.
If the boat where made this way it might have a chance of surviving in a year long flood.
Tough i have no idea how i would solve the feeding problem, the drinking water problem, the fish problem, the plant problem, the space problem (the ship would have the volume of a little less then average size of a tree multiplied by an average size of a tree multiplied by an average size of a tree.)

But why would an all-powerful being (and you) require a flood to 'reset' the Earth?
