In terms of Irish philosophers, I think everyone has their own favorite. For me, no one comes to mind quicker than James Creed Meredith (d. 1942), credited with the superb 1911 translation of Kant's
Critique of Aesthetic Judgement. In the analytical index of his famous translation, Meredith asked the pertinent question concerning Irish history and society, furnishing his own characteristically prescient response:
"What do you call a pretty girl in Ireland?"
"A tourist."
