what are we looking to achieve here? What good could possibly come from this?

Percy writes: Let us agree, for the sake of discussion, that the evidence indicates unequivocally that Wyatt has discovered the remains of a gigantic boat on Ararat. And you probably recall that just last month another Christian group claimed that *they* had discovered the remains of Noah's ark, as described here in this New York Daily News article. The two groups cannot both have found Noah's ark. How would you propose going about determining which, if any, group had discovered the real ark? Wouldn't you have to look at the evidence? First off, my position which I've aired in other threads, relative to the Wyatt site, is that there's little, if no remains of the ark left. What is likely left is an ark shaped depression on the site of where the ark rested. I've always contended that John Morris, et al and other groups claiming ark debris on the rugged heights of Mt Aarat make no sense even looking up there. There's just no way the hoofed field animals etc could get off the ark and down the rugged mountain. The families would need to live in it until they got settled in. Likely they used it for some time for a barn or whatever they needed it for. Perhaps much of whatever iron things were on it were eventually removed for use elsewhere. I attended a program at a college several decades ago when Wyatt gave a slide presentation and talk on his 17 expeditions into the region before he died. I've also viewed David Fasold's video on the alleged ark site. It was the best documentation relative to this. I believe it was produced after Wyatt's death. David accompanied Wyatt on some of his expeditions into the region. I remember at the end of the video, David saying something like, "You've seen the evidence. I'm not claiming it to be proof. Each must decide for themselves whether it is indeed the ark site." The Genesis record says it rested on the mountains of Aarat which would not necessarily be the big mountain itself, but include the foothills of it. BUZSAW B 4 U 2 C Y BUZ SAW. Close, rainbows are caused by light refracting in drops of moisture. Are you claiming that in your mythical magical vapor canopy fantasy that there was no drops of moisture hanging around? The light filtered through the vapor. Thus no rainbow. BUZSAW B 4 U 2 C Y BUZ SAW. The immeasurable present eternally extends the infinite past and infinitely consumes the eternal future.

The light filtered through the vapor. What vapor is that? The vapor that created an atmospheric pressure 100 times that of Earth? Hmmmm, interesting. What kept that vapor from crushing everything on the planet? Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. Was there no spray from waterfalls or waves Buz, no dew? Rain is not the only form of moisture.

How does the vapor filter the light Buz? Nobody who goes on the world wide web and insults the supreme designer creator of all of the observed wonderful array of design and complexity in the universe would ever want to acknowledge that evidence and become accountable to such an almighty entity. I'll ask again, just in case you missed it earlier. Why would any intelligent person deny the existence of someone who could banish them to an eternity of suffering if there was any evidence of such a being? Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. Ideas must be distinct before reason can act upon them; and no man ever had a distinct idea of the trinity. Buz, you are just making things up again. You have accepted, and augmented, an elaborate fantasy that has absolutely no basis in reality. When challenged, you just ignore the evidence presented in favor of your fantasy. It is akin to sticking your fingers in your ears and saying, "I can't hear you." I've never run into anyone quite like you. I am used to scientists, where if you show them sufficient data they will accept it. It appears that no amount of data will faze you in the least. Sorry, but the only term that comes to mind is "delusional." Say "Hi!" to Mickey and Pluto, as you're out there with them. Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.

The new see level air pressure would be essentially the same as "pre-flood". I strongly suspect likewise for temperatures. And this drastic change in atmospheric pressure would have NO negative side effects? There would be no significant change in atmospheric pressure. You would still have essentially the same column of air above the new higher sea level, that you had above the standard level. It is the weight of this air column this gives you the atmospheric pressure at different elevations above sea level. See the early messages at the (closed) What about altitude topic. Especially see messages 5 and 8 Moose Edited by Minnemooseus, : Added the quoted from my previous message and added the "bolding".

Say "Hi!" to Mickey and Pluto, as you're out there with them. Since you brought it up, I think now is a good time to tell Buz that Mickey isn't a planet either. "Mom! Ban Ki-moon made a non-binding resolution at me." Mohmoud Ahmadinejad

I've got a killer all-inclusive list right here. . . A Global Flood would NOT produce. . . 1). Any of the geologic structures that can currently be seen in any portion of the Earth's strata.2). Any changes to the decay rates of radioactive materials used in dating rocks, fossils or organic materials. 3). A fossil record carefully sorted so as to agree with the theory of evolution.

HI Buz,
You didn't actually answer the question about how you would decide which of the two sites was Noah's ark, but you did use the word evidence one time, so can I assume that you do believe that evidence is how you figure out what is true about the real world? --Ted

The light filtered through the vapor. Water vapor is more transparent to light, clear down into the "vacuum ultraviolet," than nitrogen or oxygen are. Which "harmful rays" did it filter out, Buz? Water vapor is a potent greenhouse gas. How did the temperature stay below "poach" with a "vapor canopy," Buz? "The wretched world lies now under the tyranny of foolishness; things are believed by Christians of such absurdity as no one ever could aforetime induce the heathen to believe." - Agobard of Lyons, ca. 830 AD
