Exodus 35.1,2 "Then Moses assembled all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and said to them, These are the things that the Lord has commanded you to do: For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, a sabbath of complete rest to the Lord; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death."
Exodus 35:1 Then Moses assembled the whole congregation of Israel and said to them, "These are the things that the LORD has commanded you to do:
Exodus 35:2 For six days work may be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of complete rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on that day must be put to death.
Someone mind explaining why the Lord would command the killing of people for working?

Adminnemooseus votes "no" on this PNT
This strikes me as a little burst of crankiness, and not the basis for a debate topic (or something like that). Other admins might feel otherwise.

Cranky? No. Afraid? yes.
I'm interested in a serious answer (I actually was looking at whywontgodhealamputees.com which had a similar question, and thought it might be interesting to get the people's opinions here).
You see, it's about rationalisation with reality - how can you agree with the Lord's commands in today's (non-killing-of-humans-who-work-on-Sunday's) world.
If you think it's too contraversal, that's fine, it's your forum after all.
Edited by killinghurts, : No reason given.

Controversial, no. Poorly thought out, yes. Responses would be pretty standard.
Myth vs reality.
Jewish Sabbath vs Christian Sunday.
Mosaic Covenant vs Jesus and "new covenant.
I suggest you do some reading (Mark 2:23-28) and then if you still have an issue create an OP that shows there is a real issue to fear today.
Is anyone threatening to kill people who work on a Sunday or the Jewish Sabbath?
As written, I don't see a viable debate unless one wants to be obtuse.

Understood, I'll see if I can come up with something a little less loaded.
