I don't know where to put this, but I tried to post a message in the topic TOE and the Reasons for Doubt but only the first line printed at that printed wrong. subsequent attempts to correct the message failed.

I was able to edit the post with no problem. Exactly what is happening when you try?

Hi, Admin.
When I posted my new topic at the PNT forum, I got the following error message:
quote: The topic proposal seems to have worked, but the "midt" code I tried to use didn't work: is that one no longer available to use? -Bluejay (a.k.a. Mantis, Thylacosmilus) Darwin loves you.

I'm unable to reproduce the problem. Please let me know if it happens again, maybe another example of the problem will help.

I saw some bullet points not line up in the message box but instead fall outside it to the left.
testing here:
Yeah, see that?

Yes, I see it. Seems to be a problem in IE and FF. I'll see what I can do.

Is it odd that it took an hour from my reply notification to get to me?

Yes, fairly odd, but hard to find the source of the problem, which could be at the source, the destination, or somewhere in between.

Hi Stephen,
Sorry you're having difficulty. Can you provide some additional information:
If you can provide this information I'll see what I can figure out.

Hey Percy,
Thought this should be brought to your attention.... Take a look a this thread: EvC Forum: What Darwin Got Wrong The title is capitalized but in the window header and the tab name it is showing some coding instead. See it? I'm using IE8.

Yep, I see it. I was wondering if anyone noticed but me. This happens because thread titles are stored *with* the HTML, and stripping off the HTML isn't easy so rather than doing it wrong I don't do it.
I recently wrote some code that does the HTML stripping correctly because it's actually doing a parse, but I'm not yet using it everywhere I need to. This will be coming, probably sometime this spring.

So I was typing up my reply in the box (which I normally don't do because I tend to accidentally loose shit too much) and I'm scrolling down and clicking around and accidentally hit the Reset Fields button and wipe out half my posting. I was afraid to hit the back button because then I might just loose it all.
Is there any way to un-Reset the fields? I guess that would be "restore"... well, there should be. Also, maybe you should consider putting it somewhere else and being smaller. It definately should be so close to the submit button.

Catholic Scientist writes: Also, maybe you should consider putting it somewhere else and being smaller. It definately should be so close to the submit button. Good point. I'll put this on the list - it sounds like generally good advice to not have the "Offer my pearls to the multitude" button next to the "Never mind" button. But it might be a while until I get to it, so let me pass on one thing I find that helps me lose stuff less often, which is to occasionally hit Ctrl-A Ctrl-C while I'm composing a message.
