I have an initial implementation ready of the [latex] code, this is my first test trying the same binomial equation:
How about a simple inline equation, how's that look? Edited by Percy, : No reason given. Edited by Percy, : No reason given. Edited by Percy, : No reason given. Edited by Percy, : Regenerate using improved Latex rendering.

Re: A bit of basic string theory
I wasn't happy with that either and already had inquiries in. The problem seems to be that the graphical renderer assumes a white background, and so the text is dithered with that assumption. In the meantime, here's another way to say Latex:

Another Variation
Okay, this looks pretty good, but I'll have to have Javascript code explicitly set the image widths according to some predetermined scale. Edited by Percy, : No reason given. Edited by Percy, : No reason given.

Re: Independent confirmation
Does IE 6.0 not handle .png's? .png's are the only way I can get clean rendering. .gif's can't handle it with good resolution, apparently because they don't possess a native alpha (transparency) layer. IE *is* up to 8.0 now, perhaps it's time? --Percy

Re: Updated Latex Rendering
Oh, wow, you give me far too much credit. That equation is Cavediver's contribution. Of course, in all modesty I must confess that once I saw the equation I immediately recognized it as a 12-dimensional string theory equation that represents how squigglies beat parentheses. --Percy

LaTeX More Powerful Than I Thought
I've just discovered you can do things like this using Latex:
Does anyone know of a concise but complete source of documentation for Latex that is on-line? --Percy Edited by Percy, : Typo. Edited by Percy, : Test rerendering.

Re: Independent confirmation
IE 6 can invoke AlphaImageLoader to load png's. What a fascinating challenge it would be for someone to implement code for the board software that would detect IE 6 and use the AlphaImageLoader! --Percy

Re: Independent confirmation
Just brought up IE 6 to see what you guys are dealing with. It's not that bad, the dots are kind of pretty. So you guys who work for Big Brother, are you blocked if you try to download FF, Chrome or Safari? If you can download them then you could still use IE for all work related websites. --Percy
