Lets face it -evolution is collapsing, everything in our universe is too perfect all the planets nicely balanced, etc. Evolution needs billions of years or its doomed, the evidence for a young earth is growing. No scientist could even explain the evolution of the bat with its radar -it either fully works or it dosen't, the eye, and thousands of other examples leave evolution silent. What it really boils down to is if we can eliminate God, then the message of the Bible and the need for a Saviour is false and we can live any way we choose. Just look at society -it is sick -it needs a SAVIOUR.

Hi Trev,
Your comments are just a wee bit off-topic in this thread. If you just want to sound off about your pet peeves, the best place for that is probably the [forum=-14] forum. --Percy

You left off the "Amen." Because that's what you have delivered, a statement of belief, without a single piece of supporting evidence. And that type of statement is the exact opposite of science. Perhaps you should have posted in a forum other than the Science Forum, eh? Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.

Welcome to EvC Trev!
You've crammed a bit much into one post. We are supposed to stay on a particular topic here. It is an easy mistake to make though; we all forget often. An important point is your claim that there is growing evidence for a young earth. You are right in thinking that if the earth is only a few thousand years old in reality then a lot of science is messed up (certainly not just biology). I suggest that you focus a bit and have a look at:
Age Correlations and An Old Earth, Version 2 No 1 To suggest that the earth is young requires that you explain all the correlations there. Note: the correlations have to be explained as well as the individual facts. No young earth creationist has been able to touch this problem and you will find no websites that will help you. Good luck. We are all interested int he "growing" evidence for a young earth since no one has brought any of it here before.

Talk about a one trick pony.
Genesis 2 17 But of the ponderosa pine, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the day that thou shinniest thereof thou shalt sorely learn of thy nakedness. 18 And we all live happily ever after.

the evidence for a young earth is growing So provide some. And not some biblical passage, some concrete evidence that has not be refuted 1000 times (PRATT). Just a reminder. The topic of this thread is NOT the age of the earth. The intelligent, handsome, witty, debonair poster NosyNed suggested a thread to take that issue to.

The evolutionary timescale is based on the uniformitarian principles that things happened in the past at the same steady rate as today, but do not allow for cataclysms such as the Flood. Also a pre-Flood vapour canopy would have inhibited formation of carbon14 in the upper atmosphere, so items dated soon after the Flood would appear much older. Professor George Dodwell, Australian astronomer between 1909 &1952 studied ancient records of the tilt of the earth's axis. He collected 66 records covering 4000 years. The earth's angle to Sun varies over time (shown on maps) tilting between 22.5 & 24 degrees, due to pull of moon etc. Dodwell checked the tilt against those of Stockwell and Newcombe, they diverged on a distinct curve which departed as they went back in time. A graph would show a long sine curve, which is the form a gyroscope takes in returning to stable rotation after it has been knocked off course. Extrapolate back -this curve was vertical about 4500 years ago, meaning the earth suffered a severe impact, possibly a meteor around 2500BC. the largest crater shape on earth is the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by an earthquake ring. Magnetic reversals in the volcanic rocks suggest the earth being knocked off its normal axis.Dodwell conjectured that this may have triggered the world wide flood 4500 years ago. Off topic material hidden. Use peek to see it.Do not respond to it. Edited by AdminNosy, : No reason given.

And Dodwell was wrong. There wasn't any such impact, or flood, either.

Go to the followingEvC Forum: Age Correlations and An Old Earth, Version 2 No 1for my response as as AdminNosy brought out this is off topic.

the largest crater shape on earth is the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by an earthquake ring. No, but seriously. Anything that would leave a crater the size of the pacific ocean would have pulverized the planet.
