Do you know what happens when you link to ICR or the Discovery institute in one of your messages? Their page rank goes up at search engines like Google and Yahoo.
But guess what, there's a way to prevent this: use rel="nofollow" in your hyperlink.
At EvC this means doing it manually by creating the link from scratch, e.g., here's how to do it for the Discovery Institute:
In a future release I plan to add an "nf" argument to the [URL] dBCode so that you could do it like this:
[URL=nf]http://www.discovery.org/[/URL]
Or like this:
[URL=http://www.discovery.org/,nf]Discovery Institute[/URL]

Sorry, that was probably me linking to the DI in my post about their ridiculous evolution dissention list. I forgot about hyperlinks increasing their rankings on search engines.

If you made "no follow" the default, then wouldn't any spam link that is looking to increase eye number also be disabled?
