Looks like all member topic indexes showing nothing
Also, some the "most recent" dates at the All Forum list are not current.
Last nights suspensions seem to have reset to not suspended.

Problems
I can not view member's topic indices. Also - my post count has gone up by about 600. Coincidentally this number very similar to the number of posts my Admin account has.

Re: Site is Up
My post count is up by about 500...? I don't care but it may indicate other problems?
I don't have anything in my topic index.

Re: Site is Up
My post count is up as well, by a couple-three hundred.
Of course, during an earlier site problem this year (or late last year) I lost about a hundred posts.
And I agree with CS: please change the color format back?

The Random Logout Explanation
Some people have complained that they are occasionally randomly logged out. This happens only once and then not again after they re-login.
This happens because http:// and No webpage found at provided URL: http:// record cookies in two different domains, even though they're actually the same domain. I'll fix this soon, probably this weekend.
The reason it only happens once is that after re-logging in the login cookies now exist under both versions of the domain name.

Domain Default Page
Since yesterday, whenever I try to get on to EvC, I am instead redirected to a page that's labeled as the "Domain Default page," and it gives me a message that contains the following:
quote:
You see this page because you have set up your Web server for serving a new site, but have not uploaded the site content yet.
Plus a set of instructions that I can't understand. This page has come up on both of my computers and when connecting at home and at school.
I have to Google "evcforum," then click on the link directly to the topic index in order to get on the site.
Any idea what's going on?

Re: Domain Default Page
Our server's security was compromised yesterday and the site was down for 8 hours while the OS was reinstalled and then the website rebuilt from scratch. The webpage you're seeing is one that existed for a couple hours while the site was being rebuilt. The reason you're still seeing it is probably because you're behind a firewall that caches static webpages. If you were using then try , or vice versa. In any event, your firewall's cache probably lasts no longer than 24 hours, so the problem should be gone by tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Little Blue Dot Thingies
Not sure if this has to do with the website name propagating thing, but ever since the site went down those little blue dots to the left of the threads do not update correctly for me.
Those dots used to be light if there were new messages in a thread, and then go dark once I've been in the thread to read those new messages.
Now they don't go dark after I've been to those messages anymore. Even if I refresh (and I have my IE web browser settings to "always retrieve new page information" or whatever that setting is).
Not exactly pressing, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
It hurts my OCD... oh, the pain.. light dots everywhere!!

Re: Little Blue Dot Thingies
Okay, let's see what's going on.
  1. In your browser's address box, does it say or just ?
  2. As you navigate around, does it change at apparently random times between and ?
  3. Go to http://dBoard - Board Central and click on "Board Settings", then click on "Print Cookies". Cut-n-paste the result into your reply.

Messed up title bar
So for the last couple of days the title bar to the site (the thing with the graphic that's apparently now a t-shirt??) is slightly out of whack. First, no graphic appears, which doesn't bother me. However, the other effect is that the title bar is about three times wider than normal. This effect stays throughout the whole site.
Once it worked itself out, but that was it.
I hope it's just my computer being silly.

Re: Messed up title bar
Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing, to me the title bar is the very top line of any window. If that's what you're referring to then the software has control only over the text and the icon, but not on the size.
The icon in the title bar, and also in bookmark menus in most browsers, is called the favicon. It should be an ark with a couple giraffes sticking out the top, though it looks more like a tugboat. But most browsers are very poor at updating the favicon when it changes, which it did last week. I don't know why your browser is getting Evc Forum's favicon confused with the favicon from EvC's page at Cafe Press. The favicon will probably straighten itself out in time - the reason it isn't current is because you're browser maintains a history, but only for a finite time. Browsers should check the favicon every time to see if it's changed, but they don't.
Sorry I can't be more helpful. I hope the size problem with the title bar resolves itself for you soon.
