Huntard writes:
Reminds me of an incident here in The Netherlands, where the EO (evangalical broadcasting), who were airing his shows, had edited them to exclude any reference to millions of years ago and so forth. See here, here and here.
(SOURCE)
Found at Panda's thumb (quoted in it's entirety):
quote:
I just received the following letter from Holland:
Yesterday 3 Feb, the Dutch evangelical, TV presentator and former director of the Evangelical Broadcast Organisation (EO), Andries Knevel, openly rejected his belief in Young Earth Creationism and ID. He apologised for promoting those beliefs in the past years to his children and the public. He wants credibility, reliability and belief. He desires an open debate about God and evolution with believers and non-believers alike. He believes GOD and evolution do not exclude each other. Both science and belief have their own value. He still belief that God created heaven and earth en that Jezus is our Saviour.
On July 27 2007 it was discovered and documented http://evolutie.blog.com/1962396/ that the EO censored all evolution and old earth from the BBC documentaries of David Attenborough. Now the EO no longer denies it was censorship indeed by showing fragments they censored in the past years. This is a remarkable breakthrough and conversion. Especially hopeful in the Darwinyear 2009. There are still YEC’s in Holland, but the main evangelical television station has made a very promising move.

Confirmed, he did that yesterday evening.
He's the figurehead of that broadcating station, and I think it's a very important step for him to take. I hope it'll have a good effect on those who still refuse to consider the facts.
Also, they aired the stuff they cut form David Attenborough's documentaries, seems like they finally saw the light.

I missed that, I guess I'll have to try "Uitzending gemist" (a Dutch broadcast backup site). But I agree, this is an important breakthrough. Did they broadcast Attenborough's material in the same programme?

It can be watched here
All in dutch, except for the bits of Attenborough of course (yes they showed a bit where he called chimpanzees "our closest relatives").

Let's now see something similar from the Muslim minorities in the low countries, next...
I won't keep my breath for it, though.

They won't have to make such a move. They're slowly becoming the majority, and once they are, they can impose their view on the rest of us.
At least, some of them give the impression that this is what they think will happen.

That sounds really positive, lol.
Did you ever check out the Dutch forum Ontdek Islam? I already told Huntard about it. It's the same story all over again, very depressing...

New dutch forum for evolution-creation debate
Now, a "snake eating it's tail" type message:
Huntard, at a "Links and Information" topic, writes:
The EO (evangalical broadcasting) has just opened a forum to discuss the evolution-creation issue.
It's located here: Error 404 Network
It's all in Dutch, so if you can't read or write it, it won't do you any good to go there.
If you think this sounds familiar, that's possible, the EO is the organization Andries Knevel works for, the one who renounced his belief in creationism last week, Moose had a topic about that here: http://EvC Forum: Dutch evangelical Andries Knevel rejects his belief in Young Earth Creationism -->EvC Forum: Dutch evangelical Andries Knevel rejects his belief in Young Earth Creationism
Well, see you around!

I thought that link should be in this topic also. Now you can go to that topic, which links back to this topic, and do the mobious strip reading dance.
Or something like that.

I know the site. WordPress › Error Do use the peek button, shalama, to see how to link. The site's from anti-Islamic Iranian ex-muslim Ali Sina. Sina's O.K., and it contains some interesting criticism of Islam, but its fault is that some of the criticism comes from xenophobic right wing Christians, and this is often hypocritical and paranoid. Stuff from ex-Muslims is better. There was some great hate mail from Muslims on it a few years ago. Stuff like "I will rip your head off and kill all your family" aimed at the apostates.
Speaking of conservative Christians, and on topic, the news in this thread sounds good for our Dutch contingent. Such conversions are rare. Who next? Kent Hovind?

Re: muslim lowlands
When I looked at it a while back it did seem to be ex-muslims. To bad Christians interfered. It must have been what you saw, as that sounds familiar.
Regarding Kent Hovind, strange conversions sometimes happen in prison. If nothing else he may be a tad less homophobic after his release..
