Well I'm not sure where this should go, but my guess is Coffee House so that's where I'm sticking it.
I'm likely going to be moving to Europe on a more full time basis sometime this summer (early or late, though earlier is better). I had been hoping to move early, even if just to a temporary housing situation, but the crashing dollar has not helped my plans any at all, thank you Mr B!
I was wondering if anyone has or knows of a place where an American could stay for a bit for real cheap, or perhaps real free. Anywhere from 1-3 months. Such an American might even do cheap labor to make up for said residence.
Along those lines if anyone knows of a place where this hard working lad might actually work for money (in a legit way, maybe seasonal work or something), that would also be of interest. Of course if anyone knows where people are looking to hire an American permanently, that is definitely something which would be considered.
Anywhere in Europe is cool, though north and central European nations (like England, France, Belgium) will be more convenient for my final move.
As far as a topic of discussion goes (besides info for me), I'd be interested in knowing if others have had their plans upset by the fall of our wondrous American currency? Just ten years ago I felt like a King traveling about Europe on the buck, but now I'm starting to feel like I should break out some Monopoly money for a better exchange rate. Has America lost its standing permanently?
