Re: (i before e department) But then there's weird
My goal is to eventually be able to write like Brad McFall with ease.

Tranquility Base does Bradspeak
http://EvC Forum: Brad McFall -->EvC Forum: Brad McFall
There is also more of such there. Percy also does have a relevant link to one of his messages in another topic.
TB and Brad do a "call and response" after the above cited, concluding with Brad's "3 worder" at message 32.
The above cited topic is probably the best place to pursue any further messages of the Bradspeak ilk.

Well, no, I just told you that it wasn't common in my neck of the woods.
I only ever learned about it by a few people coming into my father's store (in a neighboring rural town) and getting their prescriptions filled.

You are still the only one I know who hasn't had the pleasure.

Common ground
It seems all a person needs to do to find agreement is look for common ground.
This issue is HUGE. Globally.
I recall reading, in the early 80's, that there were some 12 million cases of head lice in the U.S. My first thought was " Wow, thats a significant chunk of the population. Next I wondered what the "real" number is. In my world people are not to eager to talk about this subject. Few kids around here are gonna go to school and tell their classmates they have lice. I'm not hearing any one talking about it at work or in the coffee shops. I think most cases pass way below the official radar. I think there are a lot of cases.
When I saw Brittany's head shaving incident on tv my first thought was " wonder if she has lice." Not a smart assed comment but a real concern. People can get extremely freaked out when they are dealing with lice.
These things have been around for a long time. Some of the common treatments may not be so hazardous in the per scribed doses but some people are not so good with instructions. Some kids are being exposed to massive amounts of this stuff. The thing is, no one knows how many because at least some people , if not most, just don't wanna talk about it.
Seems to me it's worth talkin about.
