Hello all!
quote:
I don't know about you, but some evolutionists ( or the ones
I know ) really shove it in your face when you go against them. They put all this crap up which is passed off as very
scientific and intelligent, and then when you disagree with it,
you're labelled ignorant, a liar, a hypocrite, and that you
don't belong in the science world.
They make themselves superior to creationists because they
know what genetic drift is, or natural selection, or puncuated
equilibrium. Well, I'd rather not be a believer of evolution if
I'm going to turn into an arrogant snob. ( Some do at least.)
Then they come up with that when you believe the Bible, you
are not thinking for yourself. Obviously you are, because every
one thinks, don't they? And how is evolution thinking for
yourself? [ sarcasm ]
Then they throw some ad hominem attacks ( some were
mentioned earlier ) at you. They nickpick all the little spelling
errors and grammatical errors, but, they probably do it them-
selves. Isn't that being hypocritical?
Why think that the creation of life was so difficult if if can
be easily explained in Genesis?
Look! Genesis can be proven!
It talks about the creation of the land, the oceans, the stars,
animals, man. I see all of it around me. There's evidence of
the Genesis creation story. Taadah!
Either people believe in evolution because it sounds so convincing because of it's advanced language, because they
won't be afraid of moral absolutes, or because they can show
off their amazing intelligence to creationists, because we
don't understand "science", and we are "ignorant".
*Note: This applies to some evolutionists . Don't worry, I won't say all, because then I will be labelled a stereotypical, prejudiced, ignorant overgeneralizer

Christian Forum
John, PaulK, Crash,
This wasn't me by the way, I actually copied and pasted this from the aforementioned forum, because I couldn't believe this would actually make sense to anybody.
I was following the FFG thread that Crash opened and went to the Christian forum that I think Percy gave. I must've read for half an hour or so, getting alternatively mad and sick.
I thought about registering on their site and arguing with them about this, but what's the point??!?
I guess I feel so frustrated about it that I just don't know what to do. At the same time, I thought you all might find it amusing, so I posted it -- with a laughing face.
Thank you all for your comments,
Geno

Re: Christian Forum
Sorry! I didn't mean to give you a "WHAAT?!?" moment. I just couldn't believe what I was reading, but then you've probably seen those same statements--in earnest--hundreds of times. I've only seen a few such discussions and, man, it's getting old already.

Re: faith?
Rocky,
Here's an interesting idea - faith is essential for religious belief, but it is possible to have faith without adhering to any religion.
Sounds like you've got something in mind here...would you expound on it? I've said something similar myself, but I don't know if I agree with it still.
I would say that, as an aside, if you have faith in something, even through prayer, your optimism may possibly work for you to help achieve your desired ends. The rather odd point I think I'm working toward here is that perhaps faith is good for something. Even if there is no God, if you think there is and by praying to him(her/it) it helps you attain the serenity or confidence you need in order to have success in your endeavors, perhaps it's worth trying.
