I have purposely snuck in views counter to what I would ordinarily object to just to see if they weren't actually arguing the point, but were rather so focused on hating me, that they didn't bother to listen to what I was saying.
That explains those rare flashes of rationality that startle me so.
I read much more than I post at EvC these days, in part because I have little time to do more.
Also, I've come to depend on Nator, Percy, RAZD, jar, crash, Ringo, CK, Brian, molbiogirl (and others no less well thought of even though unnamed) to defend the citadel of reason, usually far better than I could.
But a day is not complete without at least a few minutes spent reading new posts.

They Call You Ringo

Realistically, a lot of us are here to fight. The fight against ignorance is a noble one but the ignorant seem to be a never-ending supply of cannon-fodder. It can be tiring.
I think that you are one of my most enjoyable "opponents". Your replies to some of my jabberwocky are hilarious and I always look forward to a laugh in your replies to me.
I don't necessarily care about winning arguments so much as I love the interchange and expression of ideas and different points of view.
(From some posters, anyway! )

Whew!.... If those are the vanguards, then you might as well just give up now. Why delay the inevitable?
All joking aside, a couple of those names present very good argumentation, and I enjoy what they bring to the table. (Please note that "couple" literally means "two" in this instance). Won't name any names.
You did, however, forget to mention Archer and Modulous, two very respected members who think more along the line's of yourself. I enjoy their company immensely. And if its worth anything, I have great respect for you too!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Next cookery was fireless, telegraphy was wireless, cigars were nicotineless, and coffee caffeineless. Soon oranges were seedless, the putting green was weedless, the college boy was hatless, the proper diet -- fatless. New motor roads are dustless, the latest steel is rustless, our tennis courts are sodless, our new religion -- Godless” -Arthur Guiterman

As I've mentioned before (you really ought to be taking notes), one of the nice things about EvC is that we all set our own winning conditions. For myself, if I learn something, I win. If somebody learns something from me (it could happen ), I win. If I make somebody smile, I win. If somebody makes me smile, I win. When somebody says nice things about me, I win.
And sure, when somebody like NJ runs away like a scalded cat, I win too. But there isn't much satisfaction in that.

Disclaimer: The above statement is without a doubt, the most LUDICROUS, IDIOTIC AND PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WILLFUL STUPIDITY, THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN OR HEARD.

I've noticed a cyclical pattern to my posting here. It feels like its about 6 months for a full circle, and for about two weeks at the height of my enthusiasm I do more posting than in the other twenty-four. I can't really explain it except this kind of pattern can be observed in all of my interests. Its kind of annoying because I flit, magpie-like, to the next pretty diversion and never really settle on anything.
But I don't think that my interest is waning. Except the first couple of months I've always been more drawn to the Coffee House than to the actual bread-and-butter EvC debate here.
I love this place!

Yes, I did forget to mention Archer and Modulous--they definitely belong in any list of top posters: Archer's reasoned lyricism and Mod's calm precision are huge assets here. I'm sure I've overlooked others.
Respect is always worth a great deal. I enjoy jousting at your neolithic posts and otherwise return your respect.
There are only a few posters for whom I have absolutely no respect (and only one I ever loathed, and he no longer posts).
