Bump for Juggs
This thread has been hanging for a while now, so I thought I'd give it a good bump.
Hopefully, you will have time to address some of the responses.

are you aware that not 50 years ago we human rights honoring americans participated in forced sterilizations of the "mentally unfit," the poor, and the colored so they wouldn't taint or overpower the good, healthy, white american? that we supported the eugenics policies of germany? that we carried out our own both here and in our territories, namely puerto rico? are you aware that not 60 years ago we perpetrated ghastly medical experiments on various people with a similarly aimed demographic? are you aware that for the last 300 years we've been murdering and oppressing millions and now thousands (thanks to us) of native peoples? that we completely and purposely exterminated the mandan tribe because they had blue eyes and people might think they weren't savages and deserved rights?
are you aware of the people we've assasinated? are you aware of the democratic governments we've overthrown or failed to assist because the dictator better fit our interests? are you aware that the socialist movement throughout latin american is a direct result of our eggregious foreign policy?
are you aware that only thanks to the efforts of america's librarians can i check a book out of the library without it being reported to homeland security? that as a student of middle-east studies and islam and political science i'm probably on a watch list because i purchased Milestones by Sayed Qutb, a 160 page book? that i am concerned that my phone calls are recorded? that having a muslim cousin and an iranian-american friend studying abroad, that i'm suspect in all my endevors? that i'm afraid that if i write the wrong paper or denounce the human rights violations of my country too strongly, i'll be declared an enemy of the state, like a group of high school students in south florida who were meeting to discuss religion and peace?
my father died for this country and i live in fear of it, and all you can say is that we're not as bad as the other guy so we shouldn't talk about the bad shit we have done and are doing.

Re: Making the motive known
It's rather telling that you're comparing the government to the mafia
Eh, NJ could be Charles Tilly in disguise.
But then, it wasn't that aspect of the mafia Tilly was exploring when making the comparison.
