Once again you are making false statements.
hilarious, it's kind of like how common descent is a story of fanciful imaginings that people actually believed are backed by a giant scary science facts but really its just insignificant god haters pulling strings.
As I pointed out to you both personally as well as in other threads here at EvC, the Theory of Evolution is accepted by many who do not hate god, who are in fact not simply believers but even US Christian Clergy.
The Clergy Project Letter has been endorsed and signed by nearly 11,000 US Christian Clergy.
It says in part:
We believe that the theory of evolution is a foundational scientific truth, one that has stood up to rigorous scrutiny and upon which much of human knowledge and achievement rests. To reject this truth or to treat it as “one theory among others” is to deliberately embrace scientific ignorance and transmit such ignorance to our children.
Since you have been informed of the facts and absolute proof that your assertion is false, repeating your assertion that "...really its just insignificant god haters pulling strings." is either willful ignorance, delusion or deliberate lying.

Re: Trollage
The silent treatment doesn't work on bloggers.
Idiocy isn't always obvious to lurkers - it needs to be exposed. I suggest responding to the bloggish idiocy only and not the trollish idiocy - rather than a fascist approach, a shootist approach.

Re: Trollage
It depends. I think that people could (and should be encouraged to) take the opportunity that some of his posts give to give substantial replies to various topics, like I've tried to do.
I agree that short responses-in-kind (like I've given, too) are probably exactly what he wants, and is counter-productive.
One rule of thumb (which I often disregard myself) is to not respond until I see that the person to whom I'm responding has logged off. It not only gives more time for a thoughtful reply, but it prevents the conversation of degenerating into chat-room like messages. Also, it denies the troll the impression that he's wasting your time, which I suspect is part of the game.

I am no psychology major or anything, but he seems to have major mommy and daddy issues. He uses 'mom' and 'dad' as an insult against those he sees as his enemies. Maybe it's just me...

If it tastes like a brick wall...
Hi Angel Eyes!
I could be wrong but I smelt a grade-A rat when Vashgun said:
Think about it. If the admins weren't corrupt, they never would have allowed it. It would sound so ludicris as to not even warrent a thread. But they couldn't have it lingering on the proposed new topics section for young fish to come see, no. they had to move it to the remote reaches of the discussion board so no one would find it. Only those who have commented thus far I suspect are in league with the admins. It all fits together...
Riiiiight - so EvC admins have been shown to be biased because they hid a topic, that by the originator's own admission was ludacris[sic] - by promoting it! QED!
So this is either an honest (but pretty fundamental) mistake about how boards work, or it's someone trolling. I tried to keep an open mind, but when Jar tries to put Vash right in 14, he ignores it and starts arguing about something else.
I could be wrong, and engagement might benefit someone. But if it tastes like a brick wall, I've got this horrible feeling it is one.
I think I understand your point about the silent treatment not working on bloggers - anyone who writes stuff on the net has a large potential audience they could conceivably influence. However, I think there's an exception to this rule - the silent treatment works just fine on people who write odd things; more often than not casual (non-odd) readers aren't going to take them too seriously. I hope!
Take care,

My philosophy is that it's hard to tell a smart crook from an honest fool - especially at the other end of a wire. When somebody claims to be an honest fool, I'm willing to take him at his word.

Re: Trollage
As far as I'm concerned, your feelings on the matter are the right ones. Making assumptions about people because they are confrontational, or don't seem to be able to express their ideas clearly, isn't helpful for them and it isn't helpful for you.
Its just that as this topic unfolded I wasn't getting anything other than troll-sign (generalisations apparently intended to offend, a febrile emotional pitch, and a mysterious lack of actual content) and it was bothering me that lots of people might be wasting their precious EvC time talking to someone who didn't actually seem very interested in listening.
But on reflection, its not really my place to say that, is it? It's right that people should keep posting or call it a day as their instincts dictate.
I hope I'm wrong and your patience brings rewards!
