Recently, the NYT reported that the Mayo Clinic, Sloan Kettering and Wake Forest University created parthogenetic stem cells.
This remarkable advancement seems to sidestep the "destroying human life" stem cell issue.
For those who don't know, parthogenesis is the creation of an "embryo" thru chemical stimulation of an ovum. There is no sperm involved and the "embryo" will not develop beyond a blastocyte (it disintegrates).
Will stem cell opponents have a problem with stem cells derived from parthogenesis?
