Re: Why Loki?
Doddy writes:
Why did you choose Loki, who isn't even a god (and only gets mentioned as one because he kept hanging with his brother, Odin), as the representative? That's sort of like getting the angel Gabriel to represent Christianity.
Let the record show that the Jehovahs Witnesses do in fact assert that Gabriel represents Jesus.
I'll plead ignorance, however...because I never knew that Odin was senior partner to Loki.

Re: deity on video
Archer writes:
No doubt some modern cynic will suggest the disciples faked the evidence.
That just goes to show you, though, doesn't it? Motive is everything. It all depends on whether you have a heart willing to believe.
Let the record show that Jesus has no problems with wisdom. Sophia is thus allowed to stay at the table.
The A.C.L.U. Lawyer stands up. "We object to the chairman showing favoritism to Jesus, and ask that a new chairman be appointed."
Jesus is unwilling that the A.C.L.J. and Dr.Dobson be allowed to counter the A.C.L.U. and the meeting resumes...with everyone acting as co-chairman! The fundamentalists stomp out of the meeting!
Let the record also show that Jesus also appears on video, although the fact that He is at this meeting shows that the bus clearly did not take Him out!

I just want to say that there are an awful lot of Asian, American, African and Australian Gods who are very unhappy with your OP.
Yes, and some of them can mess you up.
don't apologize: by and large, they just don't care much about repentance.
Just send money.

Guan Gung. A military general who did such an effective job of dispatching nuisances that he was promoted to deity.
One offers monetary gifts to a deity, or to ancestors, by burning it. Turning a gift to smoke and sending it into the air spiritualizes the gift.

Sophia pales.
Jesus leaps to his feet.

I wanted to present the evidence in John 1 as well.
Objection. John can not testify to Jesus' identity until John's own identity is established.
I submit that the darkness of human reasoning cannot fathom the light as defined by Johns author.
Objection. If John's author was human, why wouldn't his reasoning be as dark as anybody else's?
I submit that Jesus is mentioned in the top bestselling book and that the other candidates are not...
Objection: The "top bestselling book" is irrelevant. First, it is a bestseller only because its adherents are required to own a copy. Second, the other candidates are mentioned in countless books and oral traditions where Jesus is not. Third, popularity has no bearing on any of the candidates' claims.
I move that all mention of "the Bible" be stricken from the record.

Re: for the record
out of curiosity:
if on proving their qualifications, it becomes necessary to cite historical examples of their actions, how would they prove it?
reason being, geology and history can only tell us what happened, not who caused it when speaking of deities.
I move that works of history can be allowed, but that we should first determine the qualifications needed for said works to be accepted.

I want to start a semi humorous, semi serious discussion about the nature of God. Pretend that we hav a sort of a roundtable Town Meeting Group.
The meeting will end real quick. He will write down the answer on a piece of paper before you question. Then you ask a question and read the answer from the paper by yourself.
And I mean it. Hehe...
John 1:1-3
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.
3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

Have you ever seen my favourite movie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly? There is no name on the paper because there is no name on the grave.

Re: Can I tell the truth, Jesus?
He thumps a Bible on the table.
"It's customary to ask for two pieces of ID." I add, "Photo ID."
You need two witnesses? Good golly miss Molly...
Jesus thumps down the Bible...
John 5:31,46,47
31 "If I testify about myself, my testimony is not valid. 32 There is another who testifies in my favor, and I know that his testimony about me is valid.
46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. 47 But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?"
I think His appearing is better than photo ID... has anyone in history ever seen Sophia, or the flying spagetti monster?
Revelation 15:3 ...and sang the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb: "Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the ages.
Law and grace... The Old and New Testaments... There is His ID.
There is more about the two witnesses but I'll leave it out...

Verifiable ID.
Well, if you live to see the dead raised at the rapture as prophesied by Ezekiel, will that be enough of an earthquake to shake your foundation?
I am probably about to be suspended by his queens loyal servant, so just think it over...
