Why not give equal time for other heretical theories?
Like that the planets are embedded in crystalline spheres and that they are pushed by angels? And present it as an alternative to godless, materialistic, mechanistic theories of celestial mechanics like Newtonianism and its successor Einsteinianism. Explain how such theories will make schoolchildren believe that they are totally mechanistic entities, and how that will make them want to kill their classmates just for the fun of it. Yes, drag in Columbine as an example of the pernicious effects of teaching Newton/Einstein mechanics instead of the angel theory of planetary motion.
Preformationist embryology? That's the theory that organisms are essentially Russian dolls, with their gametes containing complete embryos that contain gametes that contain embryos that contain gametes that contain ... This is better than tiny coded molecules, isn't it?
Vitalism? That's the theory that biochemistry and molecular biology are all wrong and that living things require some special life-stuff or "vital force" to keep going. Such mysterious forces are common in the theories behind various "alternative" therapies, whose advocates have been curiously reluctant to demand equal educational time for their views. And point out how mechanistic theories of life processes have the same effect as Newton/Einstein mechanics, how they make schoolchildren want to kill their classmates -- Columbine here also.
Four-elements theory? Earth, air, water, and fire. Who needs a complicated system of 110+ chemical elements when only 4 will do?
Alchemy? If we can manufacture an abundance of gold, we'll be rich. So why not get schoolchildren started on a path to great wealth?
There are plenty of others, but I think I'll stop here.

Good idea!
This germ theory of disease is, after all, "only a theory". What about demonic possesion?

Disease is caused by God.
It says so in the Bible:
Psalms 106:15
"So he gave them what they asked for,
but sent a wasting disease upon them."

Antiquated. Turing and Church proved that only two elements are required.

I think we should simply eliminate the Linnean classification system, which has obviously been perverted by atheist materialist naturalism. Everyone knows all that nested hierarchy is just baloney - after all, there are no populations and certainly no species beyond the originally created kinds. We should just teach the old escala naturae which explains the true order of life from rocks to man to God, and places humans in their proper position at the acme of creation (just below God and the heavenly host).

This is more a reply to this proposed topic than directly to the OP: http://EvC Forum: Information -->EvC Forum: Information
Adminnemooseus inserts Lam's proposed topic (above cited):
quote:
YECs tend to only attack the theory of evolution and the theory of the big bang. My question is how come you/they don't have a problem with the other scientific theories? What about the theory of electromagnetism, the germ theory of disease, the theory of general relativity, the theory of gravity, etc. Why only target the theory of evolution and the big bang?
The theory of evolution and big bang went through the same scientific process that the other theories listed above before they could be recognized as valid scientific theories. Why pick on the two only?
Fundies that I know routinely reject: global warming, the HIV causes AIDs theory, neurobiological theories of mind and that overpopulation is a problem.

Because these are the two that fundies feel most threatened by. They feel that these two directly 'contradict' the Bible. Scientific process means nothing to some people, they interpret the world through a book.
