RE: Scripture and True Science
Why don't you re-read the Bible yourself especially Genesis 1 & 2?
i've read them, hmm a good thousand times now and have yet to see anything that can recouncil them with science, unless you change the very spirit of the document and alter what eh authors mean, which by the way is blasphemy to god isn't it? is there something about not altering the words in there somewhere?
its just a story that the people of israel believed, the idea that somehow it needs to be right with science is absurd and redundent, just because the israelites are wrong doesn't mean god is, evolution as the mechanic works, unless you need a book to be right all the time
Or perhaps, you're just asking so that you can use it and promote your Evol Religion, would that be a fair assessment?
if evolution is a religion, then football is a religion, or startrek is one.
you can make this argument only when you understand the meaning of religion, imo
which by the way is a set of rules and rituals in the worship of a spirtual force. guess what? evolution is not one!
unless you can show evolution has some sort of rituals or rules about spirual things?

Kerkut
I know is isn't the appropriate forum but I want discuss Kerkut. You cited him, you must be familiar with that work. Tell me something about it that lets me know you are not just cutting and pasting from other creo websites. PLEASE surprise me. (believe me I am NOT holding my breath).
One of the main reasons I hang out in EvC is the hope that one day I will meet an honest creo, someone who will debate evidence as it stands and perhaps make me wonder. But what I see over and over are those who think scholarship is snipping other's writings, parroting long refuted (by def) PRATTs, and overall just complete ignorance of the entire body of science and your own holy book. Amazing.

Wanda: To call you stupid would be an insult to stupid people. I've known sheep who could outwit you. I've worn dresses with higher IQs, but you think you're an intellectual, don't you, ape?
Otto: Apes don't read philosophy.
Wanda: Yes they do, Otto, they just don't understand it.

RE: Scripture and True Science
Pure and simple, true science is discovering how God created and maintains the universe, our solar system, the one place where we know life exists - earth, and all life forms that have existed and continue to exist on planet earth.
For those who think they have it all figured out - both evolutionists and creationists, consider this from Eccles 3:11,
"God has made everything appropriate in its time. God has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end."

The evil one comes to steal, kill and destroy; but I Jesus have come that you might have eternal Life and have eternal Life more abundantly - John 10:10

RE: Scripture and True Science
John 10:10 writes:
Eccles 3:11 "God has made everything appropriate in its time. God has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end."
Read a little farther:
quote:
Ecc 3:22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?
Seems to suggest that even if we can never know it all, we should keep looking - just for the sheer pleasure of inquiry.

RE: Scripture and True Science
Yes, let's keep looking into God's creation and learn all we can.
Reading a little further in Eccles 12:13-14:
The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.

The evil one comes to steal, kill and destroy; but I Jesus have come that you might have eternal Life and have eternal Life more abundantly - John 10:10
