Re: AdminOmni
and if you'll look back you'll see that I made one. I didn't get suspended for it, so at least at this moment I'm not raging mad about anything.
Yes, I saw it, but I didn't see how n_j could possibly be offended at being called a moron.
Where I come from, moron is practically a term of affection--along with a nose twist and an eye poke.

    Friends, someone start a thread.
This is not the place to elaborate differences on the issues but rather to examine and question moderation actions.
    Please?

    Problem fixed, a

Re: Too-long lines in Peppered Moths thread
    Thanks.
If it is the one I now see (in a copy I made while investigating), then it is some distance from the extra long line. Apparently firefox and other browsers will treat a (for example) as implicitly closing other structures started within, while IE apparently treats each tag pair as independent. Or at least that's my best guess on why it behaved that way.
Edited by Admin, : Use literals for the HTML tag that's in the text so it's visible.

Hmm. You may be write, berberry. Nemesis wrote:

I'm not equivocating homosexuals to dogs. I'm merely showing that moral relativism is a bit absurd when you view it in these contexts.
It's not clear to me what the heck he is saying, and he doesn't really clarify it in subsequent posts.
    Sorry for the interruption.

    Faith's suspension
What finally prompted Faith's suspension? Admin's post doesn't really explain why.

    Inappropriate moderator comment
Sorry to continue being a pain in the butt, but I want to express my dissatisfaction with AdminNosy's comment:
Almost without exception the "information" in fundamentalist, Biblical literalist web sites is wrong. It varies from missing recent material; to missing old,old material to lying about what is there.
In my opinion, this is the sort of comment that should be made during debate when it can be disputed; I don't feel that a comment like this should be made in Admin mode.

    Re: Inappropriate moderator comment
I agree with you looking back at it. However, it will come up in discussion with NYC as each individual "fact" is brought up so he will be able to examine it's truth for himself.
We are in the middle of a specific discussion (I hope not really a debate) with NYC.

    Re: Faith's suspension
It followed from a discussion in Private Administrator's Forum. Naturally, given that the discussion took place there, details are going to be a bit thin.
Suffice it to say that there was a unresolvable difference in opinion on the manner of debate at EvC. Percy's opinions with regards to Faith's participation are well documented. Unless Percy chooses to expand on things any further, the final paragraph in this post probably sums things up suitably.

Very well, then. But will take this opportunity to register my displeasure at her permanent suspension. Whatever her problems are, I never considered her to be the worst offender at violating any of the guidelines. And in the few threads we participated in together, I found her to be among the very few on the fundamentalist and conservative sides that really deserved replies.
If you read this, Faith, I'm sorry to see you go.

    Re: Faith's suspension
I came here for another reason, but just saw this notice. Is she really permanently suspended? And does suspension mean there is a way back, or is the proper term permanently removed?
But will take this opportunity to register my displeasure at her permanent suspension... If you read this, Faith, I'm sorry to see you go.
I agree with the same sentiment. Though I suppose I could see permanent removal from science categories, I'm not sure why she'd be removed all over the place.
Personally I've butted my head against her wall many times. But I never found her to be an offensive personality, even if (to my mind) a bit willfully ignorant. My solution was simply not to discuss certain things with her after a while of trying.
Given the clarity of her writing, and I believe honest personal conviction (whether I agreed or not), I will be sorry to see her go.
