They all work fine in firefox, but opera can't handle example 4, has only the top line highlighted...
Yes, there should be an easier way, another option is Paragraph 1 Paragraph 2 Whereas this Paragraph 1 gives you reason to say "crap". So that won't do. Not only that but too cumbersome... But they do work in both opera and firefox. Kakariki [edit] crap! the first example doesn't work with Opera... Edited by kakariki, : html hell

It began earlier on my work computer but has followed me home. (down) Loading speed for pages is as normal. When I go to reply to a post however the progress meter for Explorer crawls along and won't complete the upload. But if I go back to the thread refresh, the reply has in fact posted up

Same situation for me. Reply seems not to post, and it doesn't change the Topics page, doesn't move the thread up. But the new post will be on the thread if you click on it.

Funny, works for this thread, but not the RobinRohan thread.

without knowing which threads in which forums it is hard to do anything. The threads in the coffehouse though are facing problems, the index not getting updated. That should be fixed when we move to the next version of the software.

The only thread I've been posting on is the RobinRohan thread and if that's a general Coffee House problem and we have to wait a year for it to be fixed, there is no point in anyone posting to Coffee House at all because it's just not working.

Okay. Whatever.
In the mean time we will continue pluging along doing what we can to keep things going. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

I'm sorry, I was just trying to emphasize that the problem is unusually bad. I don't know if it's the Coffee House forum or something specific to the thread, but it's really been acting up.
I just went in and made a correction to a post, however, that I'd tried to make half a dozen times already and it finally worked, so maybe there's no problem anymore.

Yes, the problem still exists. It will continue until we make the next upgrade. In the meantime all we can you is try to keep patching things when the problem comes up.

Today's problems in the Coffee House forum should be resolved, but they will recur in various forums from time to time. The search database file for a forum can only grow so large before it takes longer to update than the timeout for browser windows. When a forum's search database grows larger than around 30 MB then we have to clear the search database for that forum. New posts are logged as they are posted and so are searchable, but the logging of old posts is lost and so they are not searchable.
This problem will be resolved when threads move into the database sometime next year.

Percy:
This topic is not mine, and I never posted to it. Those posts attributed to me were made by someone about a year before I registered in May 2005. I seem to remember a "michael" (all lower case) showing up on the members list quite awhile back--I don't see it now. I wonder if the two are related. For the record, I am not a lapsed Catholic and I can spell "philosopher." Cheers.

Not sure if this is the same problem faith's been experiencing. I have the habit of clicking onto the number of the last page of a thread before going backward to read the other posts. But in the computer help thread by faith, I always can't get to the last page. The only way I can get to the last page now is by clicking onto the "reply to this post" link that links to a post in the last page. This happened when it was in page 17, and I thought it would go away when another page is added. But no, the thread now has 19 pages and I can't get to page 19.

I've got the same problem with that thread too. just a touch annoying. (unlike the refusal of my profile to update my read/unread posts history, which is highly annoying, recurring, and until the next software iteration for this board, can't be fixed)
