I just dented my wallet in a major way.
I bought a wacom cintiq 21 ux
For those that dont know what that is or are too lazy to click the link, it is a GOOD quality 1600x1200 lcd monitor with a built in wacom graphics tablet. The up shot of this it that you have device that you use a stylus directly on the screen.
I currenty have the device on my lap and i am using XP's on screen keyboard to tap this post out.
I might eventually post some pics but suffice to say its damn cool

it is FAR more than a toy... at 4k AUD it is a very serious piece of kit indeed.
It's usfull because it feels a lot more like using pen on paper and thus if far more natural. If it it feels more natural then the artist will perform better and quicker.
It can also rotate 180 degrees in both ditections (you can spin it up-side down in both directions.
Currently it is state of the art.and it will only be Wacom's next model that stands a chance of superceding it. though I get the feeling that the 21UX will remain at the top of the pile for a while yet

It's for me. but it's currently at work. As I spent as much as I did on it I figure I might as well get as much use out of ity as I can, which means it will spend most of it's time at work.
