Raymond E. Brown An Introduction to the New Testament
I just found this book at the library. It seems to come highly recommended for the quality of its scholarship. I'm wondering if anyone has more information or an opinion on the author or the book?

He was a fascinating person. A Jesuit who taught at a Protestant Seminary, who asked some of the very basic questions we all must address.
It is a great read and hopefully will lead you on to some others of his.

Thanks, Jar,
Good to know.
My major interest in this area at present is in the critical historical study of the bible to discover how much can be reconstructed of the developement of Judaism and Christianity.

See if you can find "Does the New Testament call Jesus God?"
