I would like to see this promoted. My thread "Mutations Made Easy" appears to be completely bogged down. Even though the thermodynamics issues are marginally on-topic, I don't believe we're going to get to actual beneficial mutations, etc, any time soon. There's sufficient complimentary information that we can support both threads, IMO.

Moose, I think you are over the top on the quibbling in this particular PNT. Yes, we all know the topic is likely to be a complete joke, and die an (un)timely death. However, that is selection in action, n'est-ce pas?
I guess what prompted this was your reliance on an anonymous email from a member to deny/delay promotion. That isn't how a discussion board is supposed to work. If an individual has evidence that provides a counter to an OP, then it should be presented within the context of the discussion. Not, as it appears in this case, from behind the curtain. Promote the bloody topic and let it be crucified or ignored as it deserves.

Hi Moose:
Re: http://EvC Forum: Francis Collins and Theistic Evolution (Re: the book "The Language of God") -->EvC Forum: Francis Collins and Theistic Evolution (Re: the book "The Language of God") I was hoping I could get away with one off-topic comment, but then jar answered me so maybe it should go somewhere else. But I don't think the existing options you suggested will work. I do NOT want to get into arguing about Isaiah 7:14 again. That one has been done to death. I just wanted to say that there is a theological REASON why Jesus had to be born of a virgin -- It wasn't just to dazzle people or however people read that. So I'm not sure what to suggest, how to answer jar, or even if there is more to say on the subject calling for a new PNT. Suggestions?

For the moment, I suggest you drop the issue, and ignore the joke posted in Message 41 of the same thread.

Thanks, that may be the best advice, but it's much more than a "joke." I may let it pass anyway. Or consider a new PNT if I think it's worth it.

I was hoping I could get away with one off-topic comment, but then jar answered me so maybe it should go somewhere else. There is pretty much no such thing as just one off-topic comment. One leads to others. If you find that existing rejected PNT unsuitable, which you have, and you wish to pursue some sort of "virgin" discussion, then a new PNT is called for. Otherwise the issue can be declared closed. All this is getting away from the intentions of this topic. I gave this topic mention because it is the place to request reconsideration of a rejected PNT. Sometimes an off topic comment seems to go only a few posts and fizzle it seems to me but OK, it was a bad risk. For the sake of clarity I added an Edit to the offending post that may clarify the point that makes it controversial and end the rabbit trail.
I believe this is the appropriate thread, however, for requesting that jar's follow-up proposal about God's jeans NOT be promoted. If someone wants to discuss the point raised in my off-topic post in a new thread it ought to be more respectfully framed, IMHO.

I would appreciate consideration of Kuresu's thread "Pheonix, "designer ecosystems", and new selection pressures". Although probably of limited interest to the general readership, I think it might be an interesting topic. Did it simply fall through the cracks due to the recent spate of new topic proposals, or was there something in particular about the PNT that didn't make it through the screening process?
Muchas gracias.

Topic promoted, though I assume it is referring to Phoenix.

Right. I was just being consistent.
Thanks for the quick work. You're a prince - and I don't care what jar's been saying about you. Edited by Quetzal, : spelling

thirded.
i think it's all too often that we get caught up in the minutia of the debate regarding specific topics, and we often fail to address the over-arching yec-ism has with science in general, and the various other fields it defines as "evolutionary" and requires rejecting.
