everyone is talking about how religion is slipping into the classroom or how they want us to have all the possibilities of creationism as a science.(I say include all religions, like Hindu, Islam, native american, norse, etc.. but I digress). If Christians are so eager to put their bible up to science as proof of their theory, then I say it is science's duty to go into the bible and prove and disprove anything it can. Experiments are used to prove and disprove evidence in the scientific terms, I believe we should definitively prove or disprove parts of the bible in a controlled manner.
If we find parts that are proven to be incorrect, we, the scientific community, must go into churches who are reading from that part of the bible and tell the practioners gathered there that that part of the bible is not true and should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully, and critically considered.
{Comments from Adminnemooseus: I have added the "(Bring science to the Church)" part to the topic title. I have not modified any content in this message itself, but I do think that in some but not all cases "church" should be substituted for "bible". The Bible is a book, an inanimate object, while the church is a collection of believers in the Bible. While I do think this message does have some content glitches, I am going to promote the individual message to become a new topic in the "Education and Creation/Evolution" forum.
The original "Proposed New Topic" is Bring science to the Bible (Bring science to the Church.}
Edited by Adminnemooseus, : Changed topic title from "Bring sciene to the bible" to "Bring science to the Bible".

Welcome to EvC
Welcome to EvC mastertrell,
Glad you decided to add to our diversity. We have a wide variety of forums for your debating pleasure, but I warn you it can become habit forming.
I prefer that new members familiarize themselves with EvC by participating in existing threads and get some constructive posting under their belt before originating a new topic.
I notice that AdminMoose is working with you on your first topic proposal.
In this topic you've given a lot of opinions, but no supporting information. I'm not inclined to promote this topic, but will leave it open until tomorrow to allow another Admin the opportunity to overturn my decision.
In the purple signature box below, you'll find some links that will help make your journey here pleasant.
Pay particular attention to our Forum Guidelines and all will go well.
Again welcome and fruitful debating. Purple

    Re: Welcome to EvC
Lol, I don't know how to promote a topic! Having been quite busy for two years solid, I have done almost no admin duties in that time.
I would be inclined to promote this topic. I'm not sure what supporting data mastertrell should provide, as this seems a straightforward argument.

Change topic title to "Bring Science to the Churches"?
With the subtitle suggestion, maybe the topic should get a promotion.
Of course, we can't force science education into churches, but perhaps there could be an organized program to do such by the churches invitation?

    Re: Welcome to EvC
This argument was not an argument of facts so i listed none. I was trying to get an idea across, to see weather or not people would agree or disagree with it, and maybe add some reflection with the whole, keeping each side out of the other's business so to speak. Religion and politics should stay out of science, as you don't vote of weather you accept a fact as being true, it either is or isn't based on empirical evidence. And maybe science should stay out of the church because the church deals with matters outside the realm of the observable.
This post was just meant to open people's eyes to an idea, not facts

I think that this has the makings of a good topic, but...
... my admin instincts tell me it could easily turn into a disaster area topic.
I am going to look at message 1 more. I think I will probably change "Bible" to "Church" in the topic title. I may also add some administrator comment at the end of the message.
I will not make any changes to the message content itself - Doing such is very much against forum policy (admins do not edit messages for content). There still is the possibility that you may be asked to do some editing of your content.
This topic will get promoted, but I think we should be careful about how we go about doing it.
    Please stand by.
