May I respectfully suggest you think about our conversation from your own perspective and personal observations of western societies (world-wide for that matter)? You might possibly be surprised. Your own truth might differ from what books would have us to believe.
Remember the stirring words spoken by John F Kennedy at his inauguration in 1961?
“And so, my fellow Americans; ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man."
To paraphrase President Kennedy: My fellow citizens; ask not what our mother Earth can do for us - ask what we can do to nourish and sustain our mother. My brothers and sisters: ask not how you can enrich yourselves, but what you can do to enrich all forms of life from our mother Earth.
