Re: not me
Just because one CAN eat the same thing every day and like it, doesn't mean one doesn't appreciate variety too. Living alone I don't have a lot of motivation to cook, so I get into a rut because it's easiest -- and I like it fine -- but when I was married I did a lot of cooking and enjoyed that too.

Re: not me
I'm with you Schraf. I do almost all the cooking in our house and although I tend to re-use a lot of our favorite spices (fresh cilantro, hot peppers, onions, garlic, fresh ginger, cumin etc.) I really have developed quite a repertoire of dishes. Can't remember the last time I ate pizza - all grease and no nutrition. Variety is essential, though. I try not to cook the same thing more than once every two weeks. When I first married my wife, I didn't cook the same meal twice for the first 4-5 months. Just trying to show off, I guess. Now I get lazy and keep returning to the old stand-bys.
Noticed the new avatar. Have we taken up equestrian pursuits in New England?

lol
No.
I taste the food that other people may potentially buy to make sure it tastes GOOD!

That's actually an old avatar.
It's from about 15 years ago and is from a competition I was riding a clients horse in.
I used to be a professional horse trainer and riding instructor.

Re: not me
Total agreement. If I wasn't married, and thus had two to cook for, I'd probably eat little more than those cup noodles you get at the store for like .25 apiece. And I'd probably die from all the salt.
And, like, my wife will eat anything, so it's not like she's picky. It's just that her family are such god-awful cooks that I feel like I have a duty to be her native guide to a veritable undiscovered country of flavor adventures.

That is wonderfully romantic, crash.
