Glad to hear your trip went nicely!
I believe God works in ways we cant imagine...i think everbody wants an explaination for everything and in reality you'r not going to get it... its like saying God is mean because he pushed the bath water up into new orleans and we're comfortable putting blame on something or somebody.. isnt that the american way?
I think its great to enjoy the good things that happen in life, but be sure to have 'lifes' insurance policy for when you get hit with something you didnt want, because it will/is happen/ing on an individual and global scale

True
Money and success can actually be a disaster in disguise... nobody will understand these things when using earthly reasoning. there is no science in faith

i think thats one of the events that happened in my life that truely opened my eyes to the evil/dark side of life even though these exremists have being doing this for years on a smaller scale. they just opened themselves up to who they really are to the western world.
i think there are deep questions that are asked everyday like why did my baby die, or why did this little child die, or why did the tsunami kill a good man, why did i die from this cancer even though i fervidly prayed for 9 days straight? i think random/unexplainable things will happen until the end of time and to understand the mind of God on the level we would like to know is kinda like trying to put together a model of a 4th dimensional universe in one that only allows 3... it just wont happen
i actually got refused trying to start a similar thread about the Gods' of extremists. In my eyes.. the devil has his hands in there...

i believe the difference is far from slight. good and bad are polar opposites.

Re: good vs bad prayers
im afraid you totally missed my points and i believe you will only hear what you want to. kind of the way the 21th century has evolved into. i can understand what youre saying.. but you cant 'hear' what im saying.
until you can truly 'listen' and understand all sides, true knowledge and wisdom will stay dormant. until then.. enjoy the confusion

but I think this is a personal cop-out of having to defend and explain your POV.
well.. i am pretty busy right now. and tend to get right to the point without wasting our time in a long delicate diatribe. my tolerance to people that dont listen is pretty low.. i guess thats one of my faults
let me just say ..you cant test or formulate good and bad... you either do what you want and learn the hard way from the mistakes or allow to be guided which makes things easier..

You can, ofcourse, prove me wrong by explaining how the fact that 'good and bad are polar opposites' answers Coragyps's point about the hijackers prayers being answered.
im not going to play games of trying to prove people wrong.. and who can be right more times than the next guy. thats not my gig
do i think unfortunate events happen in life?.. yes I think they happen all the time. beyond the control of what we want out of our greed
Do i think there are forces amoung us? Yes
Do i pretend to have God figured out? No.. we are about as smart as ants.. so dont think you can try to map out the universe and its agenda.. youre chasing your tail
Do i think the highjackers were good men?.. No
Do i think the HJ'ers were praying to a real God? No
Do i think the passengers were praying to a real God? I dont know... I guess it dependant on where their hearts were.
humble yourself, learn, and really listen.. thats all you can do

Re: good vs bad prayers
yes.. i truly believe you are at a disadvantage as arrogant as that may sound, i humbly mean it
i think everybody has to work on something in life..we are all failing in some area.. there are thousands of facets that need constant attention. God is one of these areas. you will never feel a true sense of completeness without rounding yourself out.
there are no spreadsheets or diagrams that i can give you on the guided and unguided.. but im a very sentitive person towards the tiny details that change things and have noticed something in this area... a heart guided by the mind leads to confusion, while one guided by the spirit becomes easy... thats all i will say

that's very nice but you still haven't told us why Sidelined is at a disadvantage.
hes at a disadvantage because of decision making

oh sorry... I see that you have.
you are obviously reading through that sentence

you are aware that the Bible tells us that the heart is "deceitful" and "desperately sick" and shouldn't be trusted (Jer.17:9), are you ?
yes. and you should know the difference between truth and deceit if you have wisdom.. if not .. you will be regularly perplexed

Re: good vs bad prayers

I do not understand by what you define as completeness
its just that. i think alot of times, no matter how old you age, some people seem to have a false sense of how relative completeness can be. its so easy to become comfortable with missing areas in life that you lose the sense of what a bona fide completeness is. as smart as the person is.. its very easy to lose prospective. its not dependant on intellegence.. it goes beyond that.. you have to lower your guard a little to understand
quote:
what makes you think that life is somehow tougher for those who do not share your point of view.
ive seen alot of people go from hell to normalcy and not wanting to go back because of the pain and anger.. although i did say good and bad are polar opposites..i think everybody has different levels of each in them ..forces affecting decision making. no 2 people have the same heart and experiances.. so situations are different
ive seen it... allowed myself to be humbled by it... respected it.... understood it.. until you do that... a piece of the pie is missing or that last slice is generic
