Percy/Admin,
I haven't asked TrueCreation, but I think he has the credentials for a good moderator, & I'd like to nominate him. And I agree, forgiven would be a good choice also. Mark ------------------Occam's razor is not for shaving with.

I know many evolutionists would love to have their cake and eat it too but that is not a possibility. You either accept the Word of God at face value, or you reject it in order to satisfy you own preconceived ideas of how man got here. You simply cannot accept the TOE while clinging to some bastardized form of what you perceive to be the Word of God. Don't bother arguing the point of "interpretation" with me. The Holy Scripture interprets itself without any outside help. You can argue against that point all you want but you will continue to be in error if you make any attempt to do so. Do not blame me for this dilema you face. I did not write the Bible, nor did I include within its' pages the instructions on how to obtains its' Truths, God did! So if you have a problem with that I suggest you take it up with Him.*** Shalom Jet ------------------As we survey all the evidence, the thought insistently arises that some supernatural agency - or, rather, Agency - must be involved. Is it possible that suddenly, without intending to, we have stumbled upon scientific proof of the existence of a Supreme Being? Was it God who stepped in and so providentially crafted the cosmos for our benefit? Prof. George Greenstein

I don't face any dilemma. That's your intellectual problem, not mine.

Jet, You and I both know that we don't need to look to anyone or anything else for our "rules of conduct". Our fearless leader *silly grin* pointed out the conduct of Jesus who when reviled, reviled not. There are also numerous passages exhorting us as believers to be gentle, kind, etc., etc. The thing is, we don't get to judge those who don't believe by the same standards ... but they do get to judge us. Drat, eh? They know the standard ... and they expect us to live by it .... forgetting that we are human too. Don't lose heart ... do not weary in doing good and remember when we say we speak/act/live for God, EVERYTHING we do tells about God ... and we either tell a lie, or we tell the truth. Sermonette over :-) oh yeah, you don't HAVE to click the post button (this is the only medium in which we can really "think before we speak") [/B][/QUOTE] eggcellent, and pernt taken ![]()

quote: i thank my sometimes adversary Quetzal for his nomination and Admin for the opportunity, but i recently began a new job and am only able to be here on a hit or miss basis... i am honored though i would like to offer Chara in nomination, however... she is as fair a person as i know... i have known her for years and i can attest to all that she'd be perfect for the job... if, that is, she has the time... so if it's allowed i offer her name for consideration

i just reread my post in which i nominated chara... it wasn't worded strongly enough...
many years ago i started an internet ministry on irc... chara was my very first channel operator and gave many years of loyal service... i would have been lost without her support and advice... she is a remarkable person and this message board would be a far better place with her involved... she is honest and fair and i count her among my very dearest friends... i do hope you give her the most serious consideration

I'll second forgiven's nomination of Chara - she has been invariably civil here. Only one question - she hasn't posted all that much - is she willing to devote the time necessary to keep up with the threads?

I would like to formally nominate Ahmad. He seems to be fairly informed (at least is willing to read up on the subject he is debating). He is also an intelligent design proponent.
I also agree with forgiven and Quetzal that Chara would make a good moderator if she would consider the job. cheers,Mammuthus

Cut, slash, rip the parts you deem unneccessary or faulty. Direct the arguments to conclusions. Force people to respond meaningfully to points raised. Do all this, please. I don't feel heavy-handed moderation would be counterproductive, it would just be very much work, a fulltime job. There would be some prejudice from the moderator, but this can also be moderated through separate feedback.
My experience with moderation is very good. Where in the free for all of talk.origins Konrad Lorenz was found to be mainly naive, on the moderated sci.bio.evolution he's shown to be for what he was, a fanatical nazi eugenicist. regards,Mohammad Nor Syamsu

quote:I read every new post, but I only respond to those that I feel that I might have something to add. I am limited both by my lack of knowledge in some areas, and by the fear that I might respond in an unChristlike manner. So, as to the willingness to devote the time, I'm already doing that - just very quietly. It is an encouragement to know that others are willing to place their confidence in me as a moderator, but to be honest I don't believe that I have what it takes.

In case it makes the moderation task seem less daunting, once we have four moderators the plan is to divide the forums among the moderators so that no moderator (except me) would have to moderate more than three forums.
