The originator of the geocentric viewpoint would be the first person who stayed up all night and noticed that the stars revolved around the earth. No need to put a name to him or her - and no need to invoke false learning by bandying about names like Aristotle and Ptolemy.

lol... you could say that, but that person probably didn't really think much about it and didn't formally write about it. Anyway, you could just as well say that Copernicus didnt invent the heliocentric model then, as the Egyptians(?) knew that the earth revolved about the sun.

Quite true. The ideas that everything revolves around the earth that the earth is flat get a lot of laughs now, but if you think about it, if not for some fairly recent technology there would be nothing in the immediately observable universe to contradict the ideas. Geocentrism is the damned obvious conclusion until technology and math get in the way and mess everything up.
