Actually, women have more rights under the communist regime in Vietnam than they had under the so-called american demo system.
Let just say that I am a product of my parents' get-together for the first time in almost 7 years. When the communist party took over in 75, they imprisoned everyone that was in charge and everyone that was considered a threat. My dad was told to show up at a certain location to be transported to a "reeducation camp". They also told him to bring enough clothing for "1 week". That 1 week turned out to be 7 years.
What do I think of the war? First of all, if the main players at the post world war 2 conference hadn't ignored Ho Chi Minh, he wouldn't have had to resort to going for the Soviets and Chinese for help. Heck, if the French would have kept their white arses out of SE Asia after the war, the whole thing would have been resolved a lot quicker.
What do I think? The same thing as my dad: abandoned by the Americans.
Nowadays Viet Cong propaganda wants the world to think that most Vietnamese wanted the Americans out of the war. I can assure you, from talking to a great many people, historians and people that were there, soldiers on both sides (north and south) wanted the south to win. Actually, my dad, while still in command, wanted the Americans to bomb the hell out of the north... but that's another story.
The problem with the communists is that they put the most ignorant people in charge. When the communists took over the south, they wanted to destroy everything American. Since a lot of the food supplies were in storages built by the Americans, they burned everything down. After 75, there was a period when rats, crickets, and everything that was within reach began to disappear. Guess why.
My brothers and sisters often have stories for me during those times. After 75, the children were told by their parents to sleep all day rather than play outside or whatever. Wanna guess why?
I'm the lucky one. I came out after the whole ordeal was over and the country's infrastructure had been rebuilt.
And what made you think I was 22-25? I'm old enough to remember jar being a non-admin member of this forum.
