both?
Although technically a dog, my Brussels Griffon should really count as a transitional btw cats and dogs. He certainly has characteristics of both - despite looking more like an Ewok than anything else.

Evo, cat and dog person, but currently have just one cat, Fluffy (my wife named her) and a fish, both pictured. My cat seems to think that the fishbowl is her secondary water dish. She hasn't ever seriously tried to get the fish, but she does spend a lot of time watching it!

I was once a dog person. I was converted to a cat person about 3 years ago.
My cat is named Sophie (Picture).

A cat is a harsh taskmaster!
About a year and a half ago we got a pair of Bengal kittens. Here's an inside and an outside shot, click for larger image. The enlarged images will all appear in the same other browser window:

One of them can be a bit lazy:

Here's a picture of me at my workstation, and another of one making a meal of a plastic plant:

The male can be a harsh taskmaster:

Re: A cat is a harsh taskmaster!
Nice kitty pics! I'm always amazed how long a cat gets when it scretches out, it like they double in length!
My cat definitely runs the house. If the alarm goes off and I don't get right out of bed and pay attention to the kitty, I get a furry face right in mine. Depending on her mood I either get a low volume mew or a full volume MEOOOOOOW!

Cat and Mouse / Wiener Dog
Not my cat, but one of several photos forwarded to me by a friend.
Added by edit: Another photo from same source as above.
Moose
ps: Below (and also avatar of the moment) is my cat "Hiss". As close as you can get to a stuffed animal, and still require feeding. Photo caught her in mid yawn.

Snoop Dog
I guess that I am more on the creo side, and for point of reference I have had dogs in the past but no cats. Now, however, I have one noisy BIRD.(Nanday Conure)

One dog, three cats, but still more of a 'dog person'.
Started out with cats by taking in a stray that then promptly squeezed out 5 kittens in short order, of which 2 remain on board.
I must admit that I have grown attached to my cats, even though I would never have described myself as a 'cat person'.
...and, of course, I've been evo- since I was about 6 when I decided everything they were trying to teach me in Sunday school was a crock...

evo i suppose. and i appear to be destined to be the crazy old cat lady replete with rocking chair.
i like dogs but the idea of having to manage to toilet habits of another creature is... distasteful. i'd have to get it toilet trained. prolly the reason i have cats and not a dog is i can't stand the thought of something worshipping me. also. nothing is more exciting that running around the house to discover what what just destroyed.
i really want a snake. and maybe an argentinian tegu lol.
my babies.
these are all from when i first got the shit monsters in december 04. the white one is stupid. because he is. the little one is kaida. cause she's a dragon.
nice to meet you.

she'll attack anything.

she was so little. now she's about the size he was. she was about 4 weeks old when i got them. they were strays. he was about 15 weeks. she's always gonna be small. they had ringworm and she got really sick. now they're better but she's still small.

brennakimi asks me:
quote:
how is that a dog?
Well, he barks for one thing. Loudly. Actually, the only difference between him and other dogs is his lack of fur. He's called a Hairless Chinese Crested, but that's a misnomer. He has hair - as you can see - but no fur. People either think he's the most beautiful dog they've ever seen or the ugliest. No one ever seems to regard him with indifference.
Next time there's a dog show on the Animal Channel you should watch the toy breed portion. You're sure to see one of these, and you can't really appreciate what they're like unless you see one in motion.
In a way it's a shame I'm not heterosexual, because Pepper is the greatest chick magnet you could ever imagine.
These dogs are very expensive, but you'll save money on them in the long run. They don't eat much and require little maintenance.

Dog person here
If you talk to a dog, the dog will hear "blah blah blah blah sit spike blah blah blah blah."
If you talk to a cat, the cat will here "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah..."
Except for me, my whole family is allergic to cats.

Oh, I absolutely LOVE malamutes. I've never owned one, but a friend did a couple decades ago.
I always liked big dogs, too. I've had two collies, a weimeraner and a labrador over the years. Never even considered a toy dog until I found out about this breed. Now that I have Pepper, I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world. I've never had such a constant animal companion because I've never allowed a dog to live inside the house (although I did allow my tri-color collie, Gussie, into the house fairly often).
