Re: The LORD creates all things from Spirit.
Here we have, inevitably, Mike the Wiz showing his true colors when he is asked somethign he can't answer.
Dan has him stumped (it must be terribly hard to claim the existence of something that is the center of your life and be unable to define it) so Mike just asserts that his perceptions and knowledge are superior and Dan is incapable of understanding them.
...Dan has pleasure, but neither of you have the love of God in you. I posted incase you did. You are the natural man Dan, (Romans). The natural man thinks the Spiritual things are foolishness.
You're a real good guy, Mike. A real mensch.

Re: The LORD creates all things from Spirit.
This is the absolute height of condescension. You may rely that I do not need your sort of laughable enlightenment (I am generally able to define those things in which I believe) and I would guess that no one else does either.
Oh, you aren't evil. Just annoying.

I don't choose to believe it any more than you choose to believe evolution is the truth. I believe it IS the truth just as you believe evolution IS the truth. I believe I have the best of grounds for considering it to be the truth. Same as with your taking evolution as the truth. It's not a matter of mixing terminology.
Of course you are mixing terms. You believe in christianity in spite of a glaring dearth of evidence, which is certainly your right. Percy (if I may be so bold) and I and others accept evolution because of the available evidence.
Does the difference somehow escape you?

Re: The LORD creates all things from Spirit.
If your scriptures come true, It will pretty much have to be because of a human or natural agency and will be a coincidence.

I have a LOT of evidence, and the evidence becomes more apparent to me daily, it's just not physical evidence.
Then you don't have evidence, you have opinion. Again, do you fail to see the difference?

Don't waste your time. Mike's fundamental dogma is elementary principles of naturalism. He only accepts evidence if it fits his premise of naturalism. If it doesn't, it doesn't exist in his world.
Wrong in several places. First, dogma is the incorrect term for my views of the world. Second, they aren't my standards. Third, what you call "evidence" isn't. Fourth, if something has no evidence, I see no reason to believe in it. Last, it isn't "my" world. It is the world. It exists on it's own terms and my opinions of it do not effect it. By applying the standards that I do, I have a chance of learning how the world works.

At least you admit your failure, which is a step in the right direction. I will do you the favor of starting a thread in which we can discuss this for your edification and stop taking up time in Dan's thread.

You do realize that your entire position is based on the unproven a priori assumption of the existence of "god" and the infallibility of the bible, don't you?
Talk about being in a box.

Re: Sure, I'll join the fun late
God is the spiritual substrate upon which all else hinges. Like a wind that moves a sail, God's spirt upholds all creation. This means that God is sepatate from creation but yet can be deeply manifested within it and felt at specific points where he contact his creation. Because of God, all things exist -- without God, nothing would exist.
That's nice and all. Are you saying that the above is your opinion or are you saying that it is fact?
If you are saying it is only your opinion, fine. Believe what you want.
If you are saying it is fact, pony up with some proof.

Right. That's the Politically Correct Answer. And woe be to anyone who knows it's false.

Wrong, Faith, You don't know any damned thing of the kind. You have an opinion about it and are too thick headed and set in your theistic, closed world view to know the difference.
