We get our chicken meat from a local organic farmer. I sent my husband to pick up the birds. Unfortunately they weren't done processing all of them and my husband saw just how fresh our chickens were! I had my own similar shocks while visiting the ranch. The summer I remember most clearly was when I was nine. Bailing hay was a lot of fun. I suppose me and my cousins were mostly in the way on the flatbed pulled behind the bailer - the men did most of the stacking. But one of the shocks came one day while walking by the barbed-wire fence behind the house. I had seen a pile of orangey something behind the fence, and when I got close enough I realized it was a pile of chicken feet. And then I remembered dinner the night before... --Percy

quote:Did your face look like your avatar? quote:Most definitely! I tried city life after high school while in the military. I don't function well in the city. The suburbs are better but still small. When my husband and I went looking for a place to live, we had a very different idea of small. He grew up on .5 acres and I grew up on 80 acres. To him the 4 acres we have now are huge and to me they are small. He was looking for a 60 mile an hour lawn mower to get all the mowing done. I think he's going to let the cows do it this summer. He has definitely seen a whole new side to nature out here. We use the cats to keep the field mice out of the house and the chipmunks out of the foundation. He restores cars, so he enjoys the space. I like my space! A gentle answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger.

A few months ago at Woodbridge Invitational(Cross-Country Race) There were tons of people there, almost 300 per race. I got a little metal for being in the top 20

First day with my dream bike. I'm grinning slightly but inside my heart was sinking. The bike handled appallingly and felt as heavy as lead in turns. Until I check the tyre pressures a half hour later and found them about half pumped up. Transformation. A born again biker on a born again bike Cheers Admin... Whadda imagine. Horns and a tail
Its a Fazer 1000. It would zap a kwacker 636 in a straight line but at that level, either are pretty imposing performance wise. More that I can use in either case... just hang on for dear life is about all there is to be done. It's reasonably light though so goes around the bends okay too The photo thread was a good idea. Nice on Phat for resurrecting it. It's amazing how you imagine people to be from their avatars and what they write. Some seem very shy though...

Take a regular photo and use a scanner. You can use a scanner at Kinko's or maybe a friend has one? The scanner program will use the scanner to create a digital photo for you.
Or you can mail (you know.. "snail" mail?) your photo to me, and I can scan it in for you! Ben

Just out of curiousity, why did you pick the name "Catholic Scientist"? Are you a bit of both? PB

RAZD writes: so, are you still running out of gas? Funny you should say that but just before I got this bike, I ran out again. And yup, I rolled sputtering into garage again (not one of the ones I had done before) But I reckoned PaulK would blow a fuse if I got him to recalculate. This one has a dinky yellow light that comes on at 4 litres left and stays on. Much less chance of overlooking it...
