Re: Any real proof?
So you accept as the findings of the report that Regan supported terrorists?
The taliban did not come to as a big power until after the war when afgahnistan was in chaos. Regan could not have predicted their rise to power.

So no, regan did not give the missles to terrorists.

Re: Any real proof?
Regan did sell arms to the shah including F-14 tomcats and AIM-53 missles. Yes Iran did suport terrorists as they still do, however, what about all the F-15c eagle fighters or M1A1 Abrams tanks that we sold to saudi arabia? They to support terrorist groups. It is choosing the lesser of two evils. Iran has not outright launched a major assult on us or our allies. Iraq did. It is choosing the better of two evils.

Report does not say he supported terrorists
In the Iran initiative, President Reagan chose to proceed in the utmost secrecy, disregarding the Administration's public policy prohibiting arms sales to nations supporting terrorism.
Nothing in the report shown said he suppored terrorists, just that the nations he sold arms to themselves suported terrorists. So no, ronald regan did not support terrorists. Second, it was not as much supporting Iran as it was being against Iraq, just as we gave weapons to afgahnistan to defeat the soviets, not to support their country. So yes he did sell weapons to Iran, but no this was not supporting terrorits
On a aditional note, when I first asked for proof in message 62, I meant proof of all of jar's other allegations, most of which I have yet to see proof of.
But let's look specifically at RR and Terrorism. He supported, funded and created the Contras. He approved having the CIA smuggle drugs into the US as a means of funding activities that had been specifically forbidden by Congress. He created, funded, trained and equiped the mujahadeen in Afgansitan, the Kurds, Sunni and Shia uprisings in Iran and Iraq, traded weapons to IRAN, and funded, supported, equipped and trained terrorists in Nicaragua and Hondurus as well as supporting General Noriega in Panama. And, as a parting shot, he had all of the records sealed effectively shutting off the investigation known as Iran-Contra and protecting George Bush from the fallout.
