Why should evolution be accepted on authority?

not just christians there are muslums, jews, himdus... ectbut when i hear some new information or theory i remember it... then i go out into the world and see from my experiences IF the theory works for me... thats how i've been making my decisions sicne i was little. what i would like to see are varieties of these options because not everyone gets a choice it's either one or another... and usualy one is more appeasing because you got a knife to your head telling you to chose that one.but hey thats who we are, we like to control... yes we do.and stop with the abriviations... or make some library because i'm lost in what people say :'( so sad being new here.

sorry i gess i ranted and got off track.
what i meant is that in one area it's not like EVERY choice is available because, were i live, the majority of people are christians and if you grow up in a christian family there is that pressure to be christian because you are pressured to go to church. even in school or work there is that pressure. and there are no areas to prectice budism, or islam.but to tie this to evolution when you ask some one to explain something they tell you what THEY belive not just the possibilities. lets say you ask me something and i tell you my belife or opinion on the subject you are just getting one point of veiw no choices. same goes on in school there needs to be some DEFEATABLE opposition rather than undefeatable.if not then evolution should just become a law.and thanks for the meanings ^_^.This message has been edited by PerfectDeath, 12-20-2004 03:43 PM

we don't see christians bitching about T0E because ToE Directly contradicts the bible AND it does not serve then anny value. unlike when we found out the world was round sure they bitched bout it but when they got ti India and America they were like "well it IS there and were makin money."also they say that evolutionists belive we came from apes... APES little smelly monkeys how can we degrade ourselves to say we came from them... the reassurance that we were made directly from God's image (this might be a big thing) and we were created supreme... rather than dirtly and weak.

Go against the man how do you think evolution got were it is today. christianity was accsepted on athority at one time so science and evolution had to go against athority... i only belive in something like gravity because i jump and i fall makes sence to me... the earth being round... O_o it might not be the government could be controlling our education; therefore, i only accept it because it makes sence with the gravity thing... and i don't have the money to fly around the world :'( .

You can't force people to belive in something, unless you are in a facist government, because it is free speach and free though... like how in the area were i live in there are neo-nazis who belive the holocause didn't happen. there are no laws stating that they cannot do that and even if there was they would still go against it. i'm a liberalist when it comes to peoples rights and i belive everyone has a right to do something as long as it doesn't hurt someone else. So why should it be accepted on athority? i think it shouldn't because, even though I belive in evolution and as much as i hate being critisized for it, people deserve to have their own belifes... even if they might have been forced or brought up with that belife all you can do is give people a choice and let them do their own thing... that doesn't hurt others.

Then you get into trust. Can you trust someone to do that? I certanly do not. So, because of that I do not accept on athority.also on note to my spelling and grammar I tend to type fast; therefor, i do not take the time to put in thouse corect words/grammar.

Why do you denigrate any of God's wonderous creations?The Bonobo chimps that are are our closest relatives are much physically stronger than we are, and far, far less violent than we are.We could do well to emulate some of their behaviors.
