Re: to: phatboy
OK, Ken. I read the link. You do have some decent links to information within your posts, but I think that you try too hard. Don't mind me, though. I've got my hangups as well. I have a couple of links for you to check out, Ken. Tell me what you think of them: http://www.biblicalanswers.com/...on/Problem%20of%20Evil.htmhttp://www.biblicalanswers.com/...qa_prophecy_1_frameset.htm

Re: TO: Paulk and Willowtree
If your source wanted to refer to 2 Kings rather than Jeremiah they should have done so. And yet neither states that the Temple was burned on the ninth. All we have is a disagreement on when Nebuzardan arrived. And I am sorry to inform you that it is your job to support your claims and to do the research necessary. Perhaps your attitude that toehrs should do your work for you explains why one of our sources refers to the "wrong" verses of the Bible.

Links
Those links are a bit bare. You are not to simply post links but should tell Ken what he might make of them.

When I return I will have my Strong's concordance for the Hebrew and the Mr. Grant book with me plus I may have had some additional time to do some internet research. I also have somewhat of a good working relationship as far as Bible research with a Rabbi but he may be too busy to offer help in this matter and I do not want to impose. I looked at the Grant book yesterday and it appers to say the Jerusalem Talmud says some drunken soldiers started a fire in Solomon's Temple on the 9th day of Av and it continued to burn of the 10th day of Av. So did the fire burn out on the 10th and was restarted on the 10th by the official mentioned in the Bible? Did the official make the decision to let the fire continue? I am guessing the historical records may not provide enough details. I am also not enough of a Jewish historian to know the details on how the Talmud was put together.

Re: to: all
clarification: When I wrote: "I am also not enough of a Jewish historian to know the details on how the Talmud was put together" I did not mean to imply I am a historian. Sincerely, Ken

In another thread I posted that my internet debating has ended for a long time do to a change of priorities and interest. A copy of Strong's concordance is easy to obtain or other sources like Thayer's is also available. Plus Grant's book is widely available. I do not think I left that much of a loose end here at this time. I think minimal extra due diligence is required. Sincerely, Ken

to: phatboy I did not have a chance to look at your links yet but I will suggest a few links for you: Problem of evil: http://www3.baylor.edu/...re/handouts/free_will_defense.html Gives view of Plantinga who is considered one of the top scholars of this subject. Next, I have only just begun to look at eschatology. Here are some of my threads:

Re: to: phatboy
to: phatboy The first link I can comment on. I do not know enough about eschatology to comment on the second link. First, love is a choice. Robots do not love. Sin is the price of love. God thinks the benefits outweigh the cost. Next, God has answers to men's powerlessness over sinful desires. Read the book "The Normal Christian Life" by Watchmen Nee. It is a classic. Lastly, I have not read Plantinga in a long while (I gave you the link). If memory serves though one of the things Plantinga says is that evil creates good that otherwise would not exist (courage, patience, etc). I hope these resources help. Sincerely, Ken
