Re: IMO
Hi,
How argues these possibilities?
There are many models to consider,
Peaceful infiltration: Nomadic or semi-nomadic peoples traded with urban centres and eventually settled in the marginal hill country.
Internal revolt: Displeased with increased taxation from Egypt and dissatisfaction with the city-princes, many of the lowland urban centres experienced large numbers of their population leaving and settling in the central high lands.
There was another model called the Conquest or archaeological model associated mostly with William Albright, it essentially claims that the Bible version of Exodus Conquest and Settlement were gernerally correct, this model is no longer tenable and hasn't been for 60 years or so.
There are others, for example, the symbiotic model of Volkmar Fritz and expanded by Israel Finkelstein, theres the socio-economic model of Robert Coote and keith Whitelam. No one model satifactorily answers all the questions and the answer may consist of a combination of many different models.
All of the things the Jews espouse, are lies?
They aren't lies, call it ideological history.
Brian.

Re: Friedman's book WHO WROTE THE BIBLE
Didn't the Egyptians worship cows? This may have served as an example, or they may have used their imagination and came up with something all by themselves.
Either way, trouble comes on the lifeless hoofs of a golden calf and not long in waiting.
Thanks for the reference
