Re: ...and then what?
I am assuming you are getting all this information from the Book of Revelations in the New Testament . This particular book almost did not make it into the cannon. The prophecies of John were more likely written to Gel the early Christians by scare tactics. At the time of it's writting the Jewish temples were being destroyed by Rome. Since its writting the Book of Revelations has been the source of many believers as the fate of mankind. And every single instance these would be dooms day prophets have been WRONG. As the turn of the millienum dooms day' ers have predicted the end.. nothing happened. Davide Koresh led his BELIEVERS to they're fiery deaths...Manson.....Dr. Miller in the 1800's . How arrogant is it that the Christians will be the only ones to be accepted into Heaven? How arrogant that Christians will be taken up in rapture?

Re: ...and then what?
You will not get anywhere with me by trying to bash the Bible.
Sure, there will always be a great percentage of believers and people in any religion that inject their own subjectivity into their interpretations, or completely leave the original message all together in favor of their subjective opinions. There's a lot of goofy people out there that go nuts over the apocalypse.
How arrogant is it that the Christians will be the only ones to be accepted into Heaven? How arrogant that Christians will be taken up in rapture?
What's so arrogant about it? You can come too if you'd like to! It only takes some humility to quit fighting God and accept Him.

Anti Christ?
666
vicarius filii dei?
in latin, greek, and aramaic - count it out. There is no one else who fits that criteria.
he has been around for a long time
revelation calls him the 'whore that sits upon the nations' - denotes world-government-dominion to me - he calls himself god on earth - and so on, he wears the triple crown, he says he is God's rep on earth, blaspheming the Holy Spirit who IS God's rep on earth.
Try it, let me know your conclusions.

Yes indeed, present company included.

Well the premise that the only way to not be burned and suffer for all eternity is by being a Christian for one. If you were not born in a christian country in a christian family but say in India you would be condemed for being Hindu and well on your way to hell. So your salvation is dependant upon chance of being born in the right place. Any religion that claims to be the only way to grace and to be the only valid religion is full of shit in my opinion.

Re: ...and then what?
Whenever you find a religion saying that it is the only way to GOD, you find a small people trying to limit GOD to something small enough for them to control.

I agree whole heartedly. God if he does indeed exist is not a racist. Unfortunate that many need to pigion hole him and lay claim that he does not hear the prayers of non christians.

Well I never said that there was anything wrong with an OBJECTIVE analysis of how scripture relates to modern events.
But let's face it there is very little of that around.
Of the main sources:
Daniel is about events in the 2nd Century BC.
The Olivet Discourse is almost certainly about events in the 1st Century AD (just maybe 2nd Century AD)
And Revelation is just so obscure and symbolic that the only things that seem to be used to try to "prove" that the end is near are daft ideas about the "Mark of the Beast" being UPC barcodes of RFID chips Neither of which match the description in Revelation. If you're going to do an objective comparison of scripture with modern events you need to actually know what the scripture says - but some people just don't bother.

Couldn't help it, but David Koresh (sp?) came to mind. Whore = many wives. Sits upon many nations = ancient tribal lands (Waco, Texas) belonging to several Native American nations. Three crowns = Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Claims to be God's rep. = Koresh thought he was the second coming of the Christ.
Like I said, you can get quite a few things to fit. I am not claiming that Koresh was the Anti-Christ, just that Revelations is so vague as to include quite a few options.

Do you care to put an upper bound on how many years before Jews start sacrificing animals and just what would constitute a sacrifice?

Yes, my friend
you are on the right track, just off by an ocean. LOL
It needs to be on a larger scale. Koresh was news around the world for a season, but then drifted into oblivion with occasional reiterations. And also, the number of his name, does it add up to 666? Whereas his evil was very great, there is another who tops him by many millions. Koresh also did not sit upon the nations they way the real beast did/does. Are you a history buff? Do you know anything of church history? Get yourself that book 'Daniel and the Revelation' by Uriah Smith. Even if you don't believe a word in it, it will still take you someplace you have never been, deeper yet.

I don't know when, suspect within a few years. 'constitute a sacrifice?'--killing the animals, as was done long ago.

Killing?
Since Jews kill animals now does that count?

What do you suppose that one person will be allowed the power to "sit upon nations" as you say? It simply could never happen given the inevitable lack of agreement between nations.
We cannot muster the will to feed our children world wide without dispute and you seriously think a single person could come in with the ability to convince nations that have never trusted one another to unite in one government overseeing all aspects of all nations business?
