Read the newspapers, Lam. By evangelical definition, any headline is automatically a fullfilled prophecy. Every significant historical event has been used as proof that the prophecies of Revelations were coming to pass at that time.

Re: no vagueness
A Distant Mirror by Barbara Tuchman. A description of Western Europe in the 14th century. Wars, plagues, famine...if there was going to be the apocalypse, that would have been it.

Re: Thanks
Yes, besides A Distant Mirror (a description of 14th century Western Europe) I have read The Guns of August (about the beginnings of WWI, and the incompetent people in charge of it) and The Proud Tower about the world just before the first World War (and which gave me a new American hero: Thomas B. Reed, speaker of the House of Representatives who risked his political career, and lost, opposing the war with Spain in 1898).

Re: no vagueness
Sorry for the delayed response, Phat.
Off topic: Yeah, The Guns of August is good. Another book I enjoyed by Tuchman is The Proud Tower.
Enjoy!

Hi, Phat.
Thanks for checking on me.
I recieved your email and the board notice that you responded to my previous post and I meant to respond, but I was busy at the time and I have no sense of how much time has passed, So... sorry.
I'm fine. When Faith was banned the threads I was interested in didn't have much in the way of rightwing participation and I wasn't very interested in contributing when everyone is more or less in agreement with most of what I have to say, so I decided to take a break until things pick up again. Sorry to have worried you.
Edited by Chiroptera, : Inappropriate post title.
