Hi all!
For those of you new here, I'm also Percy who posts under the user ID Percipient. I'll be away from the board for at least a few days while I undertake an investigation into modern medicine from the inside of one of our modern hospitals. When I return I'll be able to set off airport metal detectors while naked. Not that I would do that, of course.
In my absence I'm confident you'll be admirably served by admins Adminnimooseus, Adminaquility, AdminTC and AdminPamboli. This is a good opportunity for me to thank all our admins for putting their time, effort and expertise into making this an outstanding site for discussing Creation and evolution. Thanks, guys! It's much appreciated, not just by me, but by all members I'm sure.
Back in a few days!

Bump for, and best wishes to the boss
When I first saw this topic, I considered marking the occasion by suspending everyones posting priviledges, starting with those of a certain hairy elephant.
But on a serious note, best wishes to Admin Percy, for a good and speedy recovery from his hospital adventures. I don't have any inside information on what's happening, but I wonder if Percy is going to be coming out of the event as a hipper person.
Cheers,
Adminnemooseus

I'm Back!
As some have probably already noticed, I've been back for over a week now doing some administrative things, but I only made my first post as Percy today, a few minutes ago in fact.
Surgery went well. Moose correctly guessed a hip replacement. Modern technology is amazing. In a few more weeks I should be able to do anything I could do before, but without pain, and the new hip could last as long as 30 years - I have one of the new ceramics that the FDA just approved as of April 1 of this year.
Thanks go out to all the admins for keeping this place humming along smoothly, and to everyone else for making it easy for them to do their job.

Hi Percy. Nice to hear surgery went well. Now that you're life resumes, it might be wise to consider some ways to avoid recurrance of joint problems and need for more repair in the future. Not meant to discourage you, but a business aquaintance of mine had both knees replaced and now's back hobbling because the hips are going. He hasn't done a thing to correct some of the causes for his problems.
As you are likely aware the good ole American diet isn't so good nutrition wise. Some natural and wholistic joint suppliments include glucosamine with condroiten which I believe can be obtained with msm. Msm can also be used in conjunction with these for building and maintaining healthy cartilage. Of course exercise is a factor in this. Vitamine E, essential oils such as flax and borage oil and multimineral complex with equal amounts of magnesium and calcium in solution are also very helpful. I have tendencies toward these problems and I use all the above to keep my joints functional at age 68. I have actually developed joint problems in the past and the above things along with fine tuning my diet have eliminated the swelling and kept arthritis at bay. When ever I feel pain any place in the joints I bite the bullet and eliminate dairy products, sweets alcohol beverages and such and the problem corrects. The greens and certain herbs are also very healing. Food for thought.
We need to keep you up and healthy, not only for your welfare, but there's a selfish motive here for all us who enjoy the great forum you've blessed us with. May God bless you and yours. Our prayers are with you.

Hi, Buzz!
Thanks for the advice and good wishes. The hip replacement has allowed me to resume my favorite acitvity, competetive tennis. This is the same activity that caused the hip problem in the first place, but I've modified the stroke that contributed most to the problem, the serve. So far, so good, and I plan to resume tournament play later this summer.

Percy,
Not that you need it, but good luck & I hope all goes well. Any more "additions" and your going to get called the six million dollar admin.
